Brazil will have a new second driver. He is the young quick one that I was raving about one year ago in this forum.

Adrian Sutil will be taking over the Germany car from Timo Schieder; I don't know of any other major changes yet.

Salvador Duran is likely to be back for Mexico, but his fine efforts at Brands seem rather to have been overlooked.

I'm sure the teams are contractually obliged to still put a car on the grid. I suppose they have to find someone else in a hurry ?

Well Russia skipped a race so who knows what the contactual obligation is.

The teams have both cars now, so there may be some additional drivers mentioned, and an extra test session (or even two) to shake the new cars down

According F1News.ru, for Russia at this weekend will start FRenault 2.0 regular Mikhail Aleshin and 2003 Russian F1600 champion (also competing Palmer Audi last year) Alexander Turumin.

No sponsorship. He worked the whole year as employee in a agricultural machine repair shop and spent his earnings in a "cheap" oneoff race in F3000Italia with Durango where he finished the race 3th behind Filippi and Janis in a car that had been unused during the season.
His usual working day was the following: Gym from 07.00 to 09.00, then work from 09.30 to 18.30. Then gym from 19.00 to 20.00.
That was his first race since Zolder EuroF3000 in September of 2004.

And some comments...

I hope 1st driver and second driver does not mean anything, otherwise Australia will only have one fan left, one Mr. A Jones.

China - looks like they have settled on Jiang Tengyi.

India - where is Karun Chandhok? Armaan Ebrahim is VERY young and inexperienced, Asian F. BMW being as far as he has got so far and he is about 15...

Italy - Matteo who?

Portugal - still no Pedro Lamy?

South Africa - still no Alan van der Merwe?

Matteo Cressoni - last year's Italian F3 champ. Think he races GTs currently.

Anyone know anything about the Russian guys?

Can only think that they are "saving" Will Power for Eastern Creek in two weeks time although it would be a strange strategy.

Have grave doubts about the Indian driver. Some of the more inexperienced are worrying in the dry but if it rains....

Will be glued to the TV though nevertheless.

Will Power is racing in Australia this weekend. That's the only reason he's not there I suppose.

Will Davison will race for Australia this weekend.

The number 1/number 2 on that list doesn't mean much.

Eg - Halliday is racing for NZL this weekend and Scheckter for RSA

AFAIK, Will Power is out of the picture completely. He has a 3 year Champ Car deal, starting this weekend in Surfers Paradise.

Correct.

It will be Davison racing the A1 car for the forseeable future.

I'm surprised he's not involved as well - he was the first driver I thought about when I first heard there would be a Russian team. Especially considering his F3000 experience.
