nkfan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
So Armaan will be the youngest driver to drive in a A1 race.... I m not too sure if he can handle the feature race..He might get tired !!

So is there any one younger than armaan thats racing in this class or higher ?

16 is generally the youngest age that would be allowed in an international race, so I wouldn't expect anyone younger.

Closest would probably be Nelson Philippe, who was 17 when he started in ChampCar

Not sure about the Lamy story. He may have GT or sports car commitments. Parente has been saying for a while that he has been asked to do all the European rounds and, so far, he's doing okay in Estoril.

Japan aren't there because both drivers are otherwise engaged, Hideki Noda in Formula Nippon at Motegi and Ryo Fukuda in World Series by Renault at Monza. The team is also said to be short of sponsorship. No one else has had any time in the car. It sounds like an opening for a Japanese driver with money, but Sato still has F1 on his mind, sorry!

Excuse me, learned mods, this post related to Estoril and has nothing at all to do with Eastern Creek!

This thread was started well before the Portugal round and has just followed on since then instead of a new one for every round.

I wouldnt worry about it , but thanks for the update on Lamy

It would make much more sense to have a different thread for each weekend, but anyway...

Anyone know why Scott Speed, Karun Chandhok and Tomas Scheckter are not available? USA, IND and RSA might be further back than otherwise in my opinion.

Why not the Russian driver that drove at Estoril? He did a good job.

Hmmmmmmmmm your saying that Bryan Herta wont be as quick as Scott Speed ???

I think this weekend we will finally see the USA car on the pace it should be.

Bryan is a gun and I think he will do a fantastic job.

Montermini for italy will be great , he will either have an excellent race or have a spectacular crash , so either way he is good value

and kiwi if you wanted individual threads for each round then by all means start one or PM the mods of this forum

I see Massimiliano (Max) Busnelli is Driver #2 for Italy. I've always thought he was pretty talented. He was 3000 Pro Series champion this year.

Phil Giebler is driving for Team USA this weekend and finding the pace pretty hot so far. 22nd in both today's free practice sessions.

Brazil must have Oliveira or Di Grassi onboard very soon.
I agree Piquet is a good driver, but it's more than time for a change.

A round-up of expected driver changes for this weekend in Mexico:
Austria: Friesacher replaces Lauda
Canada: Patrick Carpentier
Germany: Schieder back
USA: Herta back?
Australia: Is Marshall staying?

Any other changes?

Looks like Graham Rahal (Bobby's son) could be driving for Lebanon (the family is of Lebanese origin for those who were wondering!)

I have to admit that I wasn't aware of Graham Rahal's Lebanese ancestory, but it will be interesting to see his performances and may provide an indication of his ability; also it will undoubtedly give him some experience to draw on. On a wider a note, it gives Team Lebanon and A1GP a bit of a boost by having a famous name.

yes I believe Marshall is staying with australia for mexico , he raced champcar there last year so he has track knowledge which will help him a little bit.

lauda out at Austria

who is this friesacher fella though , there seems to be 400 of them i can never remember who is who.

a shame that neel jani is being replaced , that guy is very quick indeed , ohh I just read back though the thread and see that he is racing in mexico , but why change him at all ??? GP2 commitments perhaps ??

Patrick Freisacher. Completed a part season for Minardi in F1 last year, finishing sixth (and indeed, last) in the US GP. Prior to that, he achieved some success in Formula 3000 driving for teams such as Coloni, Red Bull Jr and Super Nova.
