Phoenix Park
Anyone else racing at Phoenix park this weekend? And any driving tips (or even a good circuit map - I believe the "fishtail" on most circuit maps was dropped a few years ago).

As no racers have replied to this,I think the map in this weeks MSN is about right,a triangle, three straights, joined by sharp corners.I was last there in 1995,so it might have changed a bit but a great event, have fun!
Hope it has been resufaced since 2001.Almost destroyed Sarah Kavanagh's F1 Jordan and she was only doing a demo run! |

Rob, you'll probably find a chicane after the hairpin (1st corner) about half way down the next 'straight'.
Make sure you're ride height isn't too low as its not that smooth in places. |

Graeme,
You'll love it. The atmosphere is great. Watch out for the gas lamp posts though. |

Bloody hell! Amazing weekend! You were correct about the layout - triangular track, not the fish-shaped one I was expecting (that was last used in '77...). The surface is top notch (better than some UK circuits). I've never been as aperhensive about racing at a circuit before, but you just have to block out the trees, lamp posts, park benches, etc. When I'm racing I rarely watch the other races but I watched all the other races at the Park - the pre-war historics knock Goodwood into a cocked hat. Best weekend's racing in a long time.
