Irelands answer to Chimay!
Hi all. Sad to hear that Chimay is not running even though I too had never seen it. I had been hoping to go there this year if my car was ready. However if you like road circuits, why not get over to us here in Dublin for the annual Phoenix Park races (www.phoenixparkmotorraces.ie) for a true weekend of road racing. Why have barriers when a tree will do!! In truth its a great circuit, stupidly fast, big crowds and ...for spectators at least, its free. And as I'm sure you have all heard, we do know how to put on a good party...!! So come on, visit us and help save true road racing.

12th and 13th August. There's a pair of Historic races which should cater for most in this forum.

Peter, its on on 12th/13th Aug. As for it being very formula Libre, whats wrong with that! We've had most of the worlds historic fratarnity scaring themselves silly (how often do you get to see a 250F on the rev limiter on a road) and large groups of club racers from the uk and here who over the years have proven that we actually do race unlike the professionals.

I think most prefer to race same era and similar prep rules - I dont really relish the idea of taking an Appendix K car and being blown off by an escort on slicks! |

As far as I know, Irish Historics have to run on a road legal tyre. Regs are available on www.motorsportireland.com and the class website is www.hrca.ie

Sounds good. I'm actually calculating my leave dates and it does just fit, then the next event would be Spa.
Hmm, might lead to "management" problems. |

aprat from the date which is impossible for me . I only now get more respect for the Irish racere which we see from time to time racing on the continent ! Its a pretty long journey with 4 ferry crossings. Could be expensive as well. But ist worth to be considered for a small family and racing combination holiday in the future.
