It's a bit like a VSCC event with some 1950's and 60's stuff in the mix, but racing rather than sprinting. Loads of punters come in 1950's dress to as then they get to go into the padock. We will be in white probans bring a flat cap as normal race hats not the done thing. Bring wet wether gear though as you could be rained on, and not much shelter on post. The huts only have a roof and a back, expect to have an enjoyable weekend though.

Bring your regular probans
Only some are in white overalls, (start/finish area posts, from woodcote to first corner(name forgotten), pits and paddock). Overalls are supplied for those areas (unlesss of course you have had custom whites made like MrT). And you will not know which post you're on until you've signed on. Baseball caps are a bit of no-no, so as sputnik says, try and source a cloth cap. Some flags and observers will go back to the full old fashioned loook, flannels, blazer and trilby. Likewise if you want to go and look round the paddock in any of your free time, access is restricted to those in period dress. reminders about the dress code come with the final instructions |

See you there, I'm on 13F!
This flag marshal will not be wearing flannels, blazer and trilby but I will have the 'old fashioned look'! |

Hiya
I'm a newbie to Goodwood. I'm there for the 3/4 days. ie arriving on Thurs & camping, but I'm a bit sketchy as to what there is camping/feed/washing etc. Do I need to book a pitch? Can someone enlighten me I'm allocated post 4. Sorting out period clothes to wear Last edited by colintheolder; 18 Aug 2007 at 14:12. |

Hi Colin - welcome to ten-tenths!! I'm one of the observers on post 4. Probans are fine on that post, we are out of the spot light over there!!!!!!! (Not always quiet 'tho). Looking forward to meeting you.

Colin,
There will be toilets and showers on the camp site. They are serviced BUT some of the people that use them are not as domesticated as some of us, if you get my meaning!! For me I have to slum it at home every night, oh that 4 mile journey is hard. |

See you there on the island Pete.
Yep it's 13 for me too, with Stephen Green as another of the observers and looks like Mike Kelly as the IO. I'm assuming my booking at the Travel Inn's still valid, it was made back in the first week of January, plan to check at some point this week. sadly it looks like Mrs Bodysnatcher won't be able to perform her usual duty of tea-bearer, 'cos I don't think there's anywhere close to us that a holder of a general ticket can stand? Is there? Susie, sure, we'll see you, but Goodwood's layout means you're opposite us and I think, a bit before the chicane. Last edited by Bodysnatcher; 18 Aug 2007 at 19:27. |

There are three of us on post that are on the Goodwood pay roll for track days, and with G/W staff in the tyre team in the big tent behind us we should be able to arrange some tea between us.
As you say the Young Lady will get nowhere near us, also the CAA have a shout on that bit of land as well. tullster, Post 9 is somewhere around Lavant. I am working on the circuit Monday so will sort and report numbers = names Mon eve. We don't use the post numbers for work so have to look. |

No need to wait as if by magic:-
Rough post numbers. 1 & 2, Just after start to Madgwick in. 3, Madgwick out. 4, Fordwater. 5 & 6, No Name. 7, St Marys. 8 & 9, Lavant. 10 & 11, Lavant Straight. 12, Woodcote. 13, Chicane. At least it will give you some idea. |

Thanks Circuitmarshal, much appreciated! Last year was my first time at the revival and have to admit, was one of the first to go into the diary for this season!

Hi, I'm on post 4 too, and it'll be my first time at the Revival. Do we get chance to go in the Paddocks? I'm not sure how I can get a 'period dress with the hemline below the knee', under my Probans (assuming I had such a dress!), but if we're on post all day I guess I don't need to worry!
My letter said it included a guest ticket and car park pass, but it didn't have either. Is anyone else missing them, or just me? Looking forward to meeting Colin and Joyce on post, and everyone else in the campsite. Morwenna |

My wristband, car pass and guest tickets were all included, but I do know one regular Revival marshal who had those items missing also.

I could possibly blag a car park with my Goodwood staff ID badge but safer to have the right pass I guess. But as I live the 'wrong' side of the circuit for the marshals parking I may try and blag it anyway, then I can get home easier at close of play. |

Glad I haven't been picked out for special treatment. At least Sara wont think I'm trying to fiddle an extre pass and ticket. What's the logic about us signing on at 7:00 but our guests not being allowed in until 7:30? We'll be travelling together so she'll have to sit in the car for a while with no tea to wake her up. Glad I'll be no-where near her for a while! |

Andy, I presume that you are taking your caravan; if so then use the A283 and A285 in preference to the A286, to avoid the big climb over the top by the (horse) racecourse.
