I think you are mising the point, AJ made it clear from the begining that the seat was for young, up & coming open wheeler drivers, to help give them a break/exposure OS.

You can all forget about Courtney/Briscoe/Lowdes etc. AJ made it clear in the begining that he had the power over who drove for the team, and he would be using the team to promote young, openwheeler drivers, who were on there way up and trying to break into the international seen. And if "rated" drivers like Davo are struggling, you can forget about a state series FF front runner.

Aggreed, Barton should get a run, Caratti will get a run, and Hacket has had his chance.

And CJ wasn't shabby in FHolden or overseas in Asia. And with WD's efforts, methinks car setup and engineering may be needing attention more than the driver...

Mark Webber has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I think the main concern is mangement the car is clearly not up to speed
Davo seems to be able to do his worth in the feature each time but when you always quailfy poorly your day is just that much harder
Davo should be in the in all pract session as he has not driver at most of these tracks b4

sorry for the double post but threads did merge.

all this chat about CL ... are you joking ... he was average at best in f4000 & and a joke o/s his time with nova was to say at least a shambles from I think 18races he crashed 16 times and never finished better than 14th (I think /remember) he has to be to most overrated driver I'm aware of )

I do agree Barton would be a great choice

um actually Craig Lowndes finished an excellent 4th at Enna Pergusa in F3000 (I think thats where it was)

they certainly didnt have 18 F3000 races in 1997 and he definately did not crash 16 times.

and if you think he is over rated then my god our country is in a heck of a lot of problems with drivers then.

sheesh ...........

Lowndes got 3 points in 1997, his teammate got 37.5 and almost took the title - it's not the greatest record out there.

And the team was focused purely around Montoya. Apparently he had a massive spit when Lowndes passed him to finish ahead of him at Enna Pergusa.

Don't forget, he was going to have a second year in F3000 in 1998, until the Holden money ran out .....

And Craig didn't have an engineer who could speak english or knew what was going on until towards the end which is when the results started to appear.

so forgetting about this side track Lowndes discussion (It will never happen so lets not go there)

Barton Mawer or Peter hackett I think would be pretty good choices to at least give a test drive to.

why not even (and I can never spell his name right or even say it for that matter) Chris Allerjarjan , he ran Oz F3 and a Subaru this year and was quite impressive.

3 decent guys who deserve a shot at a test drive at least
