peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

I suspect either because an out of control open umbrella and a supercar travelling at warp speed would not be a good combination......or you just can't see the track when the bloke in front opens up his golf umbrella.

Ha! A race meeting in Victoria without rain at some point over the weekend... I'd love to see that!!

LOL @ GTRMagic...

yea, I remember during the olympics you couldn't have umbrellas, but I think it's the same at any sporting event...

Harsh Mr Sydney, harsh.
If race events were scheduled at appropriate times of the year, then there would not be a rain problem.....

Now if we could just squeeze the F1, Moto GP, SBK, Sandown 500, V8 supercar Grande Final, Aust SBK x2, AMRSx 2, Winton PI & Sandown historics, the two rival state series, and any other event of significance,
All into those 6 days in Feb that it doesn't rain, we will be fine...............

If the weather is like it was on the weekend just gone by it will be perfect, not a cloud in the sky and mid-20 degree temperatures

It was an open umbrella that killed JKF... (or at least sent the signal to the snipers)

I've seen people drive pantechs into the circuit, slide the sides across and perch bbqs in them and sofas etc, i think the areas where all of the above are not permitted are in the grandstand, pit and paddock areas that are all adjacent to the main straight.

People can drive in and watch from their cars along the north and north west sides of the circuit, and id say its fairly likely that you can bring what you wish into those areas.

best to call the circuit themselves i suppose to clarify - sandown raceway - (03) 9853 7266 or (03) 9546 1785.

One thing i know for sure is you can bring eskies and bbqs to bathurst!

From previous experience, if your not flashing it around to much on the way in the MRC (I think they are) people are pretty good about alcohol being let in.
