The only announcements coming out of the TeamHARD camp are about their VW Cup drivers & that teams run seperatly from the BTCC one now!

Gows comments about surprises were referring to driver line-ups

Lets hope so, can't see the BTCC being more exciting with every race decided by endless time penalties just so Palmer can save on his maintenance bills...

I agree in that it will happen when it happens! However when you are told by a senior person in the Team that an announcement will be made on Friday, then you can see why people expect to hear something on Friday.

I hope in some ways that some teams wait until media day with their announcements, otherwise apart from seeing the new liveries of some cars there won't be any surprises!

So the drivers/teams we are awaiting confirmation are as follows + who I think will be there realistically in brackets:

Airwaves Racing x3 Drivers (Smith, Jackson, Menu)

WSR x3 Drivers (Onslow-Cole, Collard, Turkington)

Speedworks x2 Drivers (Tom Ingram + who knows)

Team HARD x4 Drivers (Scott, Goff + 2 others)

Exocet Racing x1 Driver (Jake Hill)

Leaving 1 more TBL for someone to snap up.

That's a fair assessment I expect.

However, I thought there was some animosity between Onslow-Cole and WSR after 2012. I'm not saying for sure, but I think the Collard contact in the last race of 2012 was the reason.

I'd hazard a guess that Lea Wood is trying for one of the Speedworks seats, given that he tested the car last year so will have a degree of familiarity with it.

Looking at the website, Chris James is listed as a 2014 BTCC Driver, not a Team HARD driver.

Which seems quite obvious to me, unless people are assuming the other 15 drivers listed are also Team HARD drivers - including Jason Plato, Matt Neal, Sam Tordoff, Gordon Shedden, Rob Austin et. al.

Although following from last year, I wouldn't be too surprised if they all made an appearance for Team HARD

They have ES Racing listed on the Teams page, too, so they obviously thinks that's a done deal...

I don't know, Stefan Ziegler is a good source.

Good to see this could happen - WTCC is where a driver of Turkington's calibre belongs in my opinion.

what good will it be for him to spend racing at the back while in the BTCC he has real chances to get the BTCC title ??

and is Onyx really that well funded to afford paying Turks ?

It's looking likely there will only b 5 former Champs on the grid, poss inc Turks possibly not, 3 teams over 2 series battling for ex-BTCC champs signatures!

Re Mr James, if he makes it to the grid, he has 1 TBL 2 cars, not Vauxhalls at the last count.
