ranoff should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Reg Phillips

With regret I have to report the passing of legendary hill climber Reg Phillips who passed away at his Salcombe home last Thursday aged 92.

Reg is arguably responsible for more different hill climb cars than any other person. He built cars from the 1940's to the 1990's many of which are still competing today in a variety of classes. The last car he built, a Peugeot 106, was out at Loton Park last weekend where a minutes silence was observed before action began.

He was latterly a Vice-President of the Midland Automobile Club and could be relied upon for the wisest of advice. I last heard from him about a year ago with a very kind letter which I treasure.

My sympathies to his wife Peggy who survives him.
