i got NASCAR 1950 calender

name of Darlington race was definitelly "Southern 500", that's all i know...
try contacting NASCAR? how?

imho, Daytona 500 is at Daytona Speedway, not Daytona Beach Course

I cant give you the names of the races but can list the winners and what they were driving....but you probably already knew that.

The more classic names didn't start to pop up until the late 50's-early 60's I think, names like the Dixie 500 (Atlanta), Rebel 300 (Darlington spring race), World 600 (Charlotte) and Firecracker 400 (July race at Daytona), to name some of the most well-known (other than the Southern 500, obviously).
"Firecracker 400" sure has a nicer ring to it than "Pepsi 400", don't you agree?

Apart from Darlington, I only have one other named event.
Canfield was apparently the "Poor Mans 500" Steve |

Other than the Southern 500 and the Poor Mans 500 I don't think any of the events had names. I have a NASCAR statistics book that usually lists the names for the events. When I get a chance this weekend I'll check the book and see if any other names are listed.
