MAX WILSON SIGNS WITH TEAM BETTA ELECTRICAL & TRIPLE EIGHT FOR 2004

Triple Eight Race Engineering managing director Roland Dane announced today the signing of Max Wilson to drive alongside Paul Radisich for the 2004 season Ford Falcon ‘Team Betta Electrical’ V8 Supercar Team.

“We welcome Max on board and look forward to the 2004 season with great enthusiasm” – said Dane.

“Max has only experienced two seasons in V8 Supercars to date, but has more than proved his speed and we consider the best of his talent is yet to come”.

“We hope to give Max a very competitive race car, so that he is in a position to show his true skills on each circuit within the series” – Dane commented.

Is my medication playing tricks or didn't Max race with that team last year before "swapping" seats with the Rat ??

Good news, I'm still hoping Max will come good and be a genuine contender.

You would expect Bright to go to DJR now seeing that Kees Weel has lost Betta Electrical as Major Sponsor. I would imagine Bright would do quite well at DJR.

That will explain why the Roland Dane, the Rat and Max were hanging out after the Puke race!

If you look back two years, these two smashed more panels than Henry the eight had wives! They have both adopted the theory of car sympathy and "Betta" (lowsy i know) results will come in 04....

So who is DJRs next victim? Bright? Surely not.

Nope. I've been told to keep my mouth shut, but can't help myself with this one. (Not sure where Bright's going, but it ain't there.)

Venom XR should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
888, 2003's 'top dog' and a international driver who is becoming quite adept in a V8 Supercar (as his last race showed...) augers well for a good 2004 for Team Betta Electrical.

I'm glad Max is staying in the series, he seems like a good bloke, and the pair should 'fit' pretty well together for the enduros.

I don't believe Max said he was staying with DJR specifically, rather that he was staying in the category.

I doubt we'll see see yet another BER/DJR driver swap, so who is going to score the DJR spot and where might Canto go?

Which will answer one question. As for Dean Canto, that's answered in the press release, had I read it properly... Enduro/test driver for 2004.

What about Bright in a new Team Brock. I know Max had been hoping to go back to 888, as he was not a happy camper where he was. The grass is not always greener on the other side.

Wilson & Radisich should make a good partnership for 888 next year & with similar builds would make it easy to share a car for the enduros.

I think it is great that Max has got a seat with 888, I expect big things from these guys next year. And Max and the Rat are chargers. It should be awesome to watch these 2.
DJR need to take a serious look at themselves, and work out what they need. Junior should be out, and put him in the Konica car in 12 months time, and put 2 decent drivers in there cars with some good engineers.
