Markko Märtin's car colors

Why is Markko racing in Ford RS (Duval's car) car in Acropolis, instead of typical Ford/Martini/Telefonica colors?

Keep it up, Markko - whole Estonia is with you!

The only reason I can guess re; colours is a marketing one; pushing the RS brand.

Well done to Markko, inspite of his problems; it was a great drive & like Solberg, his first win will come soon

Martini/Telefonica probably only paid for two cars.

I like the plain RS Blue/White Focus better than the Racing Martini one

From the Ford website:
Markko Märtin and Michael Park will drive a third Ford Rallye Sport Focus RS in the Acropolis Rally, eager to capitalise on fourth place in Argentina - their best world rally result.

Am I reading this article completely wrong? I thought Markko had the 3rd standard RS all season long already, like Colin and Carlos, with François taking a 4th every now and then.

Yes and no. He has been driving a third Focus at each event, but this is just media-speak. A bit like Ron-speak (Ron Dennis from McLaren that is) but slightly less intelligent.

Having read the full press release it seems to make sense.

The release talks about Colin McRae, then Carlos Sainz, then Markko. So I think it's just a sequence thing rather than it being news that Martin is in a third car (like it would have been with Toshi Arai at Subaru)

Last year Francois Delacour drove a RS-liveried car. His was largely white with a blue ford marking, a 'negative' of Martins so to speak.

Martin hasn't driven an RS car all year.

Martins overalls are Martini/Telefonica, though
