A popular saying in the US is 'one step up, two steps back.' I think Promec is not only facing a serious budget shortfall and switching to the cheapest possible engine, but they are attempting to streamline the operation too: instead of even trying to step forward and waste any energy, they are just going to take the two steps back...
Now, having said that, you kind of wish they had gotten the Le Mans chance intead of say Norma. Maybe they would have attracted more support then the currently seem to have. But they are the type of team that makes me want to continue to argue for an LMP2 class, with a lower required investment. Hopefully we are headed that way and a team may be able to gain experience and support and edge itself up to the bigger class. |

I, too, wish they would have been at Le Mans...they would've made a better effort of it...
and on other threads, there has been talk of Promec building an LMP2 car with Maserati power... |
