I already have AdBlock Plus but it won't block ads properly on that website, because I have Windows 8.1. Anyway, I have blocked some of the annoying ads.

Is it me or Honda really struggling with to new 2.0 turbo? Lackluster performance in Super GT and now struggling to find speed in Super Formula. In qualifying 1 - 7 Toyota. The highest qualifying Honda is 8th.

Listening to the race broadcast, the announcers mentioned the Hondas had an issue with the front tires. I didn't catch the rest, but I think they were talking about the fronts suiting the FR-layout Lexus and Nissan machines. That could be where the problem is, and would limit the pace of the Hondas until they can get some constructions which suit them.

The tires arent as wide this year. So less weight on the front may not be helping them.

The tires are design for the FR cars that have more weight in the nose.So pretty much the NSX can't get heat in the front tires(no grip).
Also the Honda engine is down on power because they are using it and the WTCC engine as a test bed for the 2015 F1 engine.(fuel flow meter test bed...learning to make the most power with a fuel flow limit). |

I'm not sure how feasible that is. It's probably a lot easier to let the tire companies create some alternate constructions which suit the Hondas.

They originally wanted to buy/lease a TS030, but deals with this level of machinery never seem to ever materialize.

Surely TS040 is more expensive to keep than TS030 and I don't think that SARD has enough knowledge and know how to deal with ERS and other stuff, so is very unlikely. In my opinion ACO and FIA should introduce a sort of "open" rule like motoGP: manufacturers should supply a "customer" package of their previous season cars. The car has to be hybridless to save costs with a spec and not updatable aero package. These "open" factory lmp1 could be acquired by private teams via auction.
The overall cost of the car must not be over 2 mln of € (cheaper than the arx-03a). More expensive than an lmp2 program, but not impossible for teams like rebellion. |

A nice take on the Ishiura situation (and overall Japenese situation in Europe) as well. |
