Rubio should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
There are speculations in Argentine media that the San Luis venue is actually the legendary Portero de los Funes circuit.

If that is true, that would be an awesome addition to the grid. With Spa, Bathurst, Macau (potentially) the calendar is shaping nicely

I thought the Potrero de los Fuenos Circuit was in trouble due to noise and environmental complaints and had to be dismantled... It was last used in 2018, no?

I'm pretty sure it's NIMBYs, not actual environmental issues.

Yes, we've had plenty of NIMBYs manage to affect circuits in the past.

World Tour and the local series will run in the same race but WT entries will use Khumo tyres and WT compensations weights but other entries use tyres and weights relevant to their local series.

I assume points will be based on class result rather than overall results, so the highest placed local driver scores points for winning even if he was second overall.

All of the series that TCR World Tour will race alongside will also be using Kumho tyres as well.

TCR Europe, TCR Italy, TCR South America, TCR Australia have all switched or already switched to Kumho tyres.

TCR Asia Challenge will be Macau and will fall in line with the others.

I am a bit jealous at the overseas crowd forv getting the longer races. The 55k format they use in Europe really is a bit of a joke. 100k would be a nice round number and if my math isn't wrong they could easily do that as the Bathurst races will actually be a bit more than that at 130k.

Mixed feelings about race length. Often I watch multiple race series and in that case for me length of 25 to 30 minutes is okay for me. But for Bathurst I am happy they have longer races.

How is the playoff actually going to work, I understand that it includes the top 15 drivers from the 'World Rankings' - but if they don't want to travel to what ever country is hosting is the entry passed down the list? Are their logistic costs being subsidised?

I don't like having two equal races. I'd prefer a 20-minute sprint and a 40-minute feature.

Here's the answer:

Quote:
https://tcr-worldranking.com/news/it...he-last-detail

After the ninth event, the first 15 drivers in the overall classification of the TCR World Tour qualify directly for the final race of the TCR World Final event.

They will be joined by the first 15 TCR World Ranking drivers classified after the play-off.

Logistics contribution for the events outside Europe are reserved for the full-season entries.
