now that we know Renault have been using a sort of lauch control was Alonso's performance really That great? because his whole performance seem to revolve around that great start..

Yes but he made the start himself, with the help of some trick engine mapping. It still was a manual start and could easily have been fluffed.

He was the fastest Michelin runner in the race and made the others look daft. Maybe Montoya would have had his pace had he not lost a few places and got held up, but he would have been the only one.

Hello Folks,
This is my first post and I hope I can contribute in any way to the growth of this forum.

I want to share my 10 Clapss to Alonso's start. We saw how he put his car even on the grass just not to lose his momentum for the very important first corner but now that you guys are saying that there's an aid in some form, I give him 8 claps instead, and this also explain the equally very good start of Trulli, but, I am wondering, is this cheating or it is a part of a development of the car?

Oh, and for those who doubt Sato has the speed, His fastest laptime is right on Button's. They are going to make a rocking pair if BAR keep them next year. ^_^
