First one past the equator wins?

The F1 drivers will represent eleven different nationalities, I think. Subject to Minardi's second driver (Williams' second seat will be a German or Brazilian, which are already represented).

Thanks Adam, but not quite what I was looking for I can see now that I worded it poorly.

The question is, how many countries will Formula 1 race in in 2005? Not how many races will there be, but how many countries will the races take place in.

19 minus 2, as we race in Italy and Germany twice... so 17

There may be tests conducted in other countries though. Dubai, Portugal, Czech Rep. etc.

Ooops, sorry. er, loads. That depends what you class as countries! Germany could be considered the only true duplicate as it uses the European title. However Imola isn't in San Marino and is actually in Italy. What about Monaco? Do principalities count as separate countries? In addition maybe the British and French GP will be cancelled again, although that is for another thread!

I'll go for 19 races in 17 countries (Monaco does count, but Imola and Nurburgring don't).

Does Monaco count as a separate country? If not France has two as well.

Well, it's a multiple choice question, and the options are:

a) 15
b) 17
c) 18

Is this for a quiz? If you win you have to share the prize with us, those are the rules.

In name 18 countries/principalities will have GP and 1 continent will have a GP.
These will take place in 17 different countries/principalities. If you don't want to consider a principality as a separate country then there are 16 countries.

So the answer has to be 17 then. That's what I had originally

It's to win a ticket to a Williams test day at Silverstone as a guest of RBS. And no, I'm not sharing
