Thanks JDI,
'My bad'

FYI. Andy Knight ran four laps in a row at 1.24.9 out of a total of 32 laps at Power Built Raceway, yesterday in his V8ST FG Falcon.

I understand they will be back at the Circuit today, hunting a low 1.23, which Andy believes the cars will easily do at the second round of the V8ST Championship!

Only thing that irks me about the new cars is the stupid litte numbers on the sides. No one will be able to read them at that size, and these again have a different colour? Would be good to switch them to the very rear of the side window, where Rock and Holden currently sit, and move those logos to where they've tried to squeeze in the number.

Crikey, lap times down in to the 1.04's....isn't that pushing lap record territory?

I do have some photos as well promax (as you requested), but mine are no where near as good as the others on here. I'm sure you can build a picture in your head now around what these cars look like from every angle.

Exciting times ahead methinks

Do you mean outright lap record?

If so, no. Michael Lyon did a 59.846 in his F5000.

Steve Ross in a McRae GM1-009 Formula 5000 1:00497

track must getting quicker as the F5000's keep lowering the record at nearly every meeting. a sub 60 or 60 flat must be on the cards

Wonder what they'd do at Pukekohe now? In the 54's?

wow, that is quick, does anyone know what a 'tin-top' lap record would be?

Or is HD too young a track to have such a thing?

A sub one minute lap in anyones lanquage is blinking fast thats for sure, and those F5000 cars are pretty crazy to hear/look at etc.

I see Andre was only a tenth off Murph at the end of play yesterday.

Nick Chester did a 1:04.010 in GT1, and considering the money spent on his car compared to a ST, the first production laptimes are a sign of things to come, as I would only expect the times to drop with more track time and teams increasing their understanding of their cars.

Interesting pairing at Ruapuna today, A Knight in the Gulf Century Falcon, and J Bargwanna in the NZV8 CoT Falcon

Really!! would love to see that.

Have they got the sequential box in that car yet or is it still running the old 4 spd?

If it is the 'full' spec BNTCoTF then it will be an interesting comparison thats for sure.

Wasn't around long enough to take any lap times unfortunately, the ST sounds fantastic, the NZV8 does too, sounds a lot like what we have on track now with the NZV8's.

Watching them both fire into the T1 sweeper was FANTASTIC though Will post some photos tonight.

I saw last week that KMS were testing Mon-Wed, not sure if that is still the plan?

Were plenty of other cars getting in some running before the Skope classic this weekend too.

I heard there was around a 3 second difference in lap times between the two. Did you end up recording any?

No I didn't Macros, there was one stage when they were running close together, and the ST had no problem pulling away. But who know's what they were trying to achieve with their runs at that stage.

so new NZV8 (in current form) is around least 3 seconds faster than the old NZV8.. if Knight was running in the 1.24's

do the ST's still put out 575 hp or has that number gone up again?
