NZSTfan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
So a mention of Lee Holdsworth as an enduro driver for Bairdo and the possibility of Fabian Coulthard as a replacement for Greg Murphy this weekend according to GMS yesterday.

Also the weather models that i use are suggesting that Chch will be dry over easter with a light easterly being the main wind direction. Shouldn't be too cold either. Most of the rain is for the North Island

Your best bet for accurate weather forecasting in NZ is...

http://www.metvuw.com/forecast/forec...=nz&noofdays=7

This is a combination of global forecasting models, and they seem to get it right most of the time

wow thats cool, 24 cars slated for 2013.

Wonder how that stat will sit with the 'NZ Touring Car' (ex NZV8) people who believe they will get 10-15 cars on the grid THIS year (not next).

Unless of course we have drivers that do both, but can't see that happening somehow

There are plenty of drivers out there NZST.
now that ST is full the focus will become new NZV8.if what i am hearing re new promotion and social network people coming on board is true then it wont take long.
remember NZV8 will also be the main support at V8 supercars november 2013 at pukekohe.

Yes thats all well and dandy, but they have literally only a handful of months to build and test the new car, and form the teams and associated infrastructure around it - they don't want to go about it half arsed. Remember that by this time last year the ST was already in prototype form and had a test session or two under its belt, and that was in prep for racing the following february! and even that proved to be very tight for some teams.

And i can only see the NZV8's supporting supercars at Pukekohe if they manage to deliver on what they have promised in their press releases, ie. totally new car, with different manufacturers, and with good numbers on the grid. If that doesn't happen then what will that do for the support category from a NZ perspective? surely they wont roll out the old clangers again?

Great to hear that they have a new 'team' all clued up in social media etc as you stated, but its not just about getting fans on facebook.

I still have not seen any concrete footage of the new car, in full trim, performing testing. I have seen the advert on youtube however, but thats just the FG01 running old gear around ruapuna

During TV3's coverage of the Ruapuna round of the V8STs I thought they mentioned the addition of a Pukekohe endurance race at Labour weekend with the Ruapuna endurance race (that was scheduled for that weekend) being moved. Also mentioned were Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan, Ana Beatriz, The Giz & Lee Holdsworth.

I thought it was pretty big news, but I've heard nothing since. Was I dreaming?

Malcolm.

No the dates on the website has changed and there is a writeup on motorsport news? i think it was.

it's all tied up with Supertourers wanting Canterbury Car Club to build bigger better pit garages if they want them back,
and the car club being duluded enough to think that the Christchurch Council will loan them a million dollars to do it,
when there are all the protests again Christchurch council raising rates and having to fork out to repair all the earthquake damage to things.
Cant imagine the Christchurch ratepayers being happy if the Council give the money a big wad of cash while the ratepayers are still having to use portaloo's.

Saw the NZV8's for the first time last weekend on the tv and gotta say that the NZV8 new gen car provided some of the best racing I've seen in a fair while. Good job guys and gals involved.

Methinks Razor, being from Aus, has seen the V8ST coverage on Speed, and just got his terms mixed up

Just check out the V8ST Website and have seen another revision to the calendar:

TBA August TBA
TBA Sept TBA

Taupo missing from the list now, perhaps I should have waited to book the flights for that round, doh!

How is it petty? He was found to be infringing on the rules and was penalised accordingly?

Considering that Chris Abbott was instrumental in redeveloping Taupo, and is on the ST board, I would be very surprised if they don't host a round there...

Ok, noted. I thought that the VE and FG NZV8 were the new gen/NZCOT cars. My mistake.

Starfleet general order 1: (Prime Directive) Total noninterference in another culture's internal affairs, natural development and progression. So I can't divulge any secrets from that race I watched. Now to fight off rogue Klingons and Romulans. *Beam me up Scotty!*
