He'd never have done it. He may be the best, but he can't do the impossible!
I think though he would have been close to Trulli and possibly pushed him into a mistake. Still, it was Michaels mistake that cost him the race so he eradicated his own chances really.... |

Haha..i find it funny people actually put so much doubt in Brawn....
I mean, i'm not saying MS/Brawn would surely succeed. But there's no reason to doubt Brawn's explanation, not only because he had time and time proven himself as the most strategically smart guy on the pitwall and his superb ability to think on his feet when strategy is concerned, he had explained his thoughts quite clearly. Brawn admit it would be a slim chance...but still, the odds are higher and following Jarno in and end up behind Jarno. Yes...everything has to go right...but the thing is that MS would have about 10 clear laps because backmarkers are all starting right behind him...and that whatever backmarkers MS encounter, they would at some point hinder Jarno as well. Knowlesy, nobody expected Brawn and MS to win Hungary 98 as well, yet look at how MS just put in laps and laps of qualifying-quality runs that enable him to snatch victory from under Mclaren's nose? Ahh...MS mistake...but wasn't that beyond the point in this thread?! |

Yes Gt-R, Hungary 1998 was magnificent and remains one of my all time favourite races and drives of anybody. So I am fully aware of what Michael and Ross are capable of frankly.
Look at it in a balanced way....Schuey had a 10% chance of winning. Yes, he may well have done it, but it was very very unlikely. Surely even someone as biased as yourself can see that! Last edited by Knowlesy; 29 May 2004 at 17:36. |

Ah...biased...
IN CASE you didn't even bother to read with your eyes, i've said "I mean, i'm not saying MS/Brawn would surely succeed" and also in far earlier threads i've pointed out that the odds are small and unlikely of a MS victory...especially with the safety car out. MS had a slim chance..but it's still a chance...and i didn't say victory is definite. I had even said that a MS victory that day is very difficult. So i think i've not been one-sided in this case. Of course, nobody bothers to read it before making pointless retorts... and only those who doubts MS can make "balanced" views - MS fans are always "biased"...
