Actually, Ford nearly bought Ferrari back in the early '60s. They effectively had a deal when Enzo suddenly walked away, saying Ferrari would never be owned by anyone. It was this action that caused Ford to develop the GT40 specifically to beat Ferrari at Le Mans. Since the GT40's first win in 1966, Ferrari have never won Le Mans...

Nah, Cosworth is a shop like Judd or Ilmor - only moreso. They happen to produce stuff that's just about always badged Ford, but they can do it independently of Ford, too (witness the CART engine fiasco, where Cosworth is now suggesting they'll supply turbos for
everyone next year, and Ford isn't involved).
