Who should get the second Super Nova seat?
Tiago Monteiro has been confirmed as a Super Nova driver for 2002. That leaves David Sears with Giorgio Pantano and Sebastien Bourdais fighting for his second seat. One of them is going to get left out in the cold.
Which do you think should get the last top-line F3000 drive available? Please also leave a reason for your choice. |

Bourdais is probably the better bet.
Both Bourdais and Pantano are very good drivers, but I suspect Bourdais will be in a far stronger position to challenge for the championship then Pantano. However, that is not to say Pantano cannot be a contender, it really depends on who the Super Nova team will be happier working with. Ideally they both deserve a competitive seat.

Recent news suggest that:
-Supernova is to announce Tiago Monteiro and Giorgio Pantano contract on March 13th. The team is believed to wait until this date to avoid another to take advantage of the decision. Budget reasons would have lead to choosing F3 veteran Tiago Monteiro as Nova Group would quit at the end of the year, and the team needs to have a secure future. -Sebastien Bourdais to drive for Durango? Could it be as a third driver? Remember that last year Rodrigo Sperafico only had budget for 9 our of 12 races. |

Yes Rodrigo seems to be hot this year.
I guess it's only a rumor! |
