Opel Astra OPC (Supersonic Motorsport) guest previous VLN Race was Teemu Suninen , he drive now rally, last year rallycross, but was originally a kart driver, plans next year to come back to the track/race series, one choise is eg VLN full season.

Do tell me more? From what I have read, I suspect that they will make it a tuned engine to offer to their road going clients (once the engine has been race developed).

Yes, only a 458 GTE and a modified 458 challange ran in VLN so far. Anyway usually GT3 cars that run in VLN/24N use special chassis and suspensions reinforcement. If michelotto didn't develope this special nurburgring package, very unlikely the car will be competitive or reliable.

I believe I read somewhere that GT Corse modified this car for the Ring on their own, but I might very well be wrong.

Gonna be interesting to see what it is capable off. Too bad rain is in the forecast for Saturday so we might not even know until next year how good it really is.

Didn't check the results yet, but conditions were truely horrible. About two hours in, there was an SP3T (2 liter) Audi in P5 overall...

Wasn't that bad from where I was watching, but from what I've heard there was "some" trouble down hill. Lost track of the leaders after that first scramble in the rain. Saw the second placed Twin Busch Audi pass by later on the back of a truck, missing the left rear wheel.

When was the last time a non-GT3 car won the race?

Also, mad props for the McLaren, for lasting more than two laps and even finishing the race!

I would say that the McLaren GT3 isn´t a very consistent car, with continuous reliability and race incidents.

Was planning on going to DTM in Zandvoort this weekend, until I was told I can't park my car nearby at the track. Now I'm reading Marc VDS is racing VLN at the same day. So it'll be the Nürburgring for me again this weekend.

I know the first car is supposed to go to Ben Keating here in the States, but SRT was planning on selling ten or so (I can't recall the exact number).

Some **** went down in the last lap resulting in some front runners retiring, and Brünnchen was scattered with broken GTs, so although the third place is a well deserved result for Dörr, it might not represent their true form at the moment. Still, second race in a row without any major problems for the McLaren, that's great for the team. I hope they can build upon that.
