I think nearly all the grid that was at Oulton are intending to be @ Snetterton, plus Brian Cox's Cupra and Stacy Vicker's RX7, that both had problems in testing on the Friday. Andy Robo's Falcon, a Mondeo Supertourer and another BMW also intend to be there so far. Piers will be back out in the XR8 too, so looks like it will be a mid 20's plus grid

I'm in not sure what race yet, I would like to bring the old 2nd gen out for Post Historics as a Mustang should be out but gearbox still not repaired wouldnt take long if I had a hydraulic press.

Often dry but windy and us old English farmer stock usually come home with red faces and red necks in true yankee fashion YEEHAA! i didnt hear about Piers gearbox going missing, is there no depths some people will not sink to, that must have been stolen for a competition car or at least for an enthusiasts car and they must have known what they were after.

Yep, have repaired the rad and we're working on it again this evening and weekend to cover off the other niggles we had from it's first run at speed. Hoping to test again next Friday, and if all goes well we'll be rolling up the following week for race day..

Have to say the CT grid is impressive in size and quality. Exciting.

Be great to see you and your Monster RX7 back on the grid Stacy, yet another different car. That will be at least 18 different models of car on the grid at Snetterton, with Class B alone having 8 enteries in 7 different types, all having the pace to take the outright win Thats without the cars also with the same pace in Class C, A and A4, its going to a great season of racing in the new Thunder Saloons methinks

Cheers Joss.

Was a bit manic for everyone I think, given the first race.

Hopefully we'll all have a bit more time at Snetterton to chill out.

i would stick with the rover engine lee. 350-360 bhp is easilly achevible and in your escort should be pretty rapid, that will be more than joss has got in a similar weight car, but the rev limit of 5500 is a joke, have a word with your engine builder, you should safely be pulling near on 7000 to make that engine work.

Chevrolet say with stock production parts, GM steel crank, selected 'Pink' con rods and forged pistons and a proper selected valve train the small block Chevy V8 is ok at 7800 rpm. I have H beam Eagle rods and crank all roller cam proper pistons and I limit it to 7000 rpm but feel it could go higher, I would say 5500rpm is too low but it all depends on whats in there.
