There is not too much wrong with Indy lights. The racing is great, the cars provide good racing and are strong and safe so what's wrong with it?

Low numbers ? Why is that?
Because of the split? There was a time where you had good fields for both Atlantic and Indy lights, and that was because there was a perception that open wheel racing in America had a future.

The current negativity around open wheel racing from many previous enthusiasts of open wheel racing is probably the most on-going damaging influence. Yes it needs to be rebuilt but constantly knocking it down won't do that.

The current grid is also very talented. Harvey is the last credible Brit F3 champ, Baron showed his class with the odd USF2000 race last season after winning the French F4 title, Brabham is the Star Mazda win record holder, Razia nearly got an F1 seat, and Chaves and Veach are the top 2!

Gabby Chaves won & I saw a pic of "him" which looked like a "her". From the early FBMW USA days I thought he was a she, then I think I found out he was a he - had to google this morning after seeing a Pocono winning pic which confused me again - he can be very pretty

Toronto this weekend for the Lights boys (and Gabby Chaves )

Chaves fastest in P1, ahead of Jack Harvey and Alex Baron. Veach down in P6, but this is only practice. Of course, Baron is returning having missed Pocono, as are Matthew Di Leo (from 2013), Ryan Phinny (from 2011), and Scott Anderson.

In the relation to IndyCar's rating, it's actually pretty good. Maybe there is some potential to the Indy Lights and I hope that Dan Andersen makes something out of it.

Harvey took the double at Mid-Ohio (entering the title frame by doing so), with Milwaukee this weekend.

Veach stole the win from Brabham thanks to a late caution for Razia crashing. The title race js getting interesting...

Standings after Milwaukee:

1. Gabby Chaves (COL, Belardi), 466
2. Zach Veach (USA, Andretti), 459
3. Jack Harvey (GBR, Schmidt), 443

The last round at Sonoma has two races. The winner gets 50 points and the 8th gets 24 points, but drivers who don't complete 50% of the laps get just 1 point, so that will be a tight battle.
