Yes. That thought had crossed my mind too. They will be there for 3 days, so maybe they were just laying down a base time (for comparison) when the photos were taken. Who knows?

I think we will see a true and specific HD package for the 919 only in 2015

That is possible too, but if Porsche's objective is to get a win this year, then they are going to have an even tougher time with no HDF package until then.

If they won't improve engine and suspensions/otherstuff reliability will be already a great result to finish the race...
Anyway will be interesting to find out if the 919 needs only 6 refueling or 7 like audi and toyota.

Agreed. Car needs to improve all round. I'm very interested to see if they have caught up to their rivals.

Big difference in the 2011 car from Sebring to Le Mans.

Launch version

Le Mans

oh ffs.

I guess I can't do anything because I didn't leave any detail.

The Peugeot debuted in 2007. For much of 2007 all of 2008, 2009 they basically ran the Le Mans bodywork at every race track. It wasn't until the "new" regulations that they developed this hdf kit.

I do think Porsche is running something a little bit different to the Le Mans aero kit in that picture though.

Yes - They are re-running the shark gill side pods, and it is speculated that the rear wing is higher (and obviously at a greater angle). Perhaps it's just me, but I was expecting more obvious visual changes.

I just noticed this:

Please look carefully at exactly where Romain is holding the cooling air jet!

Could this be an indication of the testicular fortitude required to drive this car?

You said "never". Thats not true. And its not going to be true for Porsche either.

That's true, but I would say that peugeot debuted with a specific low drag bodywork for le mans only in 2009! in 2007 and 2008 LMS seasons and LM was used the only and standard bodywork the car had. In 2010 at example the 908HDi used those LD diveplanes on nose only at spa and LM, at silverstone, road atlanta and zhuhai the 908HDI had the standard bodywork. Anyway true is that during 2011 ILMC season, after sebring and spa, 908 used successfully a sort of LD front / HD rear wing in remaining sprint races.
Problem for porsche is that time has passed and competition made harder ever more! you simply can't hope to win against rivals if you use LD design in tracks like silverstone or COTA

There seems to be an exhaust hole on the side of the car (both sides) just next to "Porsche Intelligent Performance". This was not there before.

Looks like they might have relocated the air-jack connector to the side like on the Audi or Toyota.

Good shout; his SuperGT experience would put him in good stead for an LMP1-H drive.
