KR Team signs with Proton and Lotus

KR Proton team signed with the car company along with Lotus for two years. Kenny Roberts introduced a 2003 version four stroke Proton engine.

I don't know where the Lotus name came into it. WHat benefit would they get from bike racing, having said that, do Proton make bikes. (unless i'm totally blind and they do )

I don't think Proton make bikes. I've never seen a Proton bike myself, but perhaps the company see motorcycle as a good advertising gimmick. Perhaps they are preparing to get into the motorcycle industry?

Proton owns Lotus....Proton sponsors the KR team and gives access to Kenny Robert and his team to work with proton's engineers for R&D and produce motogp motorcycle engines at it's factory. With the new development of Lotus coming in, means that Lotus engineers will help them with the effort.

Now there's Robert's, Proton's and Lotus's engineer working on the 2003 engine. A report in the local daily mentioned proton's ceo saying that if the engine were to be very competitive, Proton would consider producing street motorbikes for the public.

What I meant was.

Proton, as you know, are a one of Malaysia's largest national companies. Malaysia has a project to establish itself as a great technological leader in the world (to great economic effect until 97).

The generous support national companies like Proton and PETRONAS to motorcycle teams along with other high profile kinds of engineering, all support this goal (impression?)

I can't think of another country in the world that has such a focused aganda. Which is why i made comment refering to Malaysia being semi-dictatorship comment (no other country could acheive such an agenda).

The semi-dicatorship comment also refers to the fact that Malaysia is nominally headed by the paramount ruler and has bicameral Parliament consisting of a nonelected upper house (and elected lower house).

Paramount ruler & dictatorship? I suggest you read more of our parliamentary system before you start to talk nonsense and let known of your ignorance.

I vote my state assemblyman and member of parliament.

We have elections in every 5 years, for parliamentary candidates (member of parliament) and the state assembly (state assemblymen) in which the ruling party will control the parliament and whichever ruling state assembly will rule the states that they have won.

The opposition party ruled two states while the ruling party rules the rest and the parliament at the moment. We also have kings in each states in which they take turns to be the regent in every 5 years.

This is a democratic country unlike Brunei, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait etc in which you can call dictatorship

Even AWSJ mistakenly potrayed the Malaysian flag to be as the Indonesians and FEER mentioned that Malysia had few bombings in the last two years eventhough there's none at all! Eventhough i'm not a malay, i'm damn proud that Mr Mahathir is my prime minister and people from all races loves him a lot. I have learned much about Australian history, particularly Aboriginal history, which I have studied for the past two years, and nothing you say will surprise me. I am appalled at the treatment they have received in the past 200 years. It can be termed a historical disgrace. Only now are ancient wounds being healed through the reconciliation process.

In the early 90s after the Mabo and WIK decisions, we got a letter from the UN congratulating our government on our reconciliation process and native title legislation. Of course, our current PM Howard ruined all that with his 10 point plan, and subsequently we got a letter from the UN basically asking 'Please Explain?'

The politics and history is too wide and varied to be covered now...
