Who's Hot for the Aussie Team
Does any body know who will drive the Aussie car. I'm sure you'll bag me out and say it's Christian Jones, but has anyone else shown any interest or been approached?

Yep, possibly a bit of nepatism there I'm afraid. Quite a few other drivers I think are interested, Will Davison, maybe brother Alex, James Courtney, Will Power, Barton Mawer even Marcus Marshall might want some 'Off season racing'. These are all drivers, with the exception of Alex, that want to keep their open wheeler options open.FONT=Arial[/FONT]

Will Power, Barton Mawer and Karl Reindler are all at the front of the queue at present. Marcus was but apparently his Champ Car commitments put him out of contention.

At the demonstration day at Eastern Creek... there was not allowed to be any timing of the car... but... a few people in attendance with the latest Nokia mobiles, handtimed the two Aussies who were driving.
From a ready reckoner up and down the media scrum in attendance, one driver was 3-3.5s a lap quicker than the other... consistently... or as consistent as you can be at Eastern Creek, with the oddball track surface.... ... and it wasnt the son of the Franchise Chairman who was quicker either

You have to remember though, that neither guy did alot of laps. Christian Jones did the first batch, probably about a dozen all up, they stopped for a while and then Will Davison went out and did around the same.
Times werent the important part of the day, nor was serious running, but Davision was more on it - both visibly and audibly |
