Belly13 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
A1GP, Eastern Creek, 2008

I will be attending this event in a few weeks. Does anybody know where I can get a timetable for the event? Also, does anybody know where I would be able to get entry lists for all categories, including A1GP? Will there be a programme available at the event, and is Friday free admission?
Thanks for your help!!

That Belly is a good question and not an easy one to find. The best info I can come up with is on the Formula 3 website (see pages 11 & 12 of the attachment below) probably gives you more info than you need but it's a start

Other info here

Thanks for providing the links NAC, it was proving difficult to find any real information about the round. Surely Eastern creeks website could have promoted this better....

Just one question, what do the historic sports consist of? Is that the new historic sports sedan category recently created?

Eastern Creek (or the ARDC) don't really seem to be promoting this event at all (strangely). I think they are leaving it up to the NSW Government? Perhaps the event is not making money for the ARDC possibly because the deal with the A1 people. Who knows what the financial arrangement is. They are however advertising the V8 Round a few weeks later so it appears that the A1 event is a different deal. However it would be good if you could use the Eastern Creek Website to find out more about the event. I would suggesta look at the A1GP Website, it is quite useful.

How bizarre, how bizarre (sorry I can't sing ) - no wonder that a lot of permanent circuits are in financial trouble - it ain't rocket science we are talking about here

The event is a circuit hire from the ARDC. They have nothing to do with the promoting or implementing the event.

It is A1GP, Team Aus A1 GP and the NSW State Government who are holding the event.

Speaking about promotion, in Sydney it is quite strong. Television commercials during the cricket, tennis and evening prime time spots. Huge billboards adorning overpasses along major highways such as M4 in Sydney. Also the Team Aus A1 GP car did a Westfield shopping centre tour of Sydney with its "name the Team Aus A1 car" over the last few weeks.

All in all I think promotion has been pretty fair.

In addition to this, starting back in December A1GP Sydney have held a function at Establishment Bar in the CBD after each race weekend, showing a DVD of the full sprint and feature races. They gave away free A1 Team Aus caps, and at the last function were giving away FREE General Admission passes worth $70.

Good luck with the race over the gents.

I was over for Bathurst and Indy last year and I cant fault your passion for those events so it would be great to get something even half as good for A1GP!

I'm not sure if the full entry list has been published yet, but there are a couple of interesting changes this weekend.

Fairuz Fauzy takes over from Alex Yoong in the Team Malaysia car, whilst Michael Ammermuller returns for Team Germany, despite Christian Vietoris's good showing at Taupo.

The Robbie Kerr/JamesWinslow duo continue for Team GBR. I hope we haven't seen the last of Olly Jarvis. It looks as though the official rookie, Oliver Turvey, will not now get to drive the car at all, which is disappointing.

Yes, the entry list is pretty well set now I think Strider, at a1gp.com.

I was wondering if Team GBR was missing John Surtees and/or as you mentioned in the Brno thread: "the engineer they had last season - James Robinson - is now with Team Switzerland" perhaps the engineer even more. Yet Jarvis did have the car a lot closer to the front at Sepang so it all seems a bit curious.

Ammermuller!?

Joao Urbano again for Portugal, a pretty good run last round.

Ah...here's the whole dang list: Driver Entry List A1GP Sydney, Australia RD 6: 3 Feb 2008

not the right place I know, but my girl got tix for 2 students to the Saturday and Sunday - except now we can't go. Can confirm the rest of the details but after $150 (cost 200) to someone in Sydney metro area so they can be dropped off/picked up.

Can't a great motorsport nation find someone a bit more experienced than Piscopo? They are the great underachievers of A1GP still.

If he stuffs up at Force India then I'd like to see Giancarlo Fisichella in the car next season. On the days the engineer fails to get the car sorted he'd be blinding!

Yes, you would think Italy would be right up there, especially with the Ferrari connection.
Don't think Fisi is the answer though, maybe Luizzi!

I originally posted most of this a while back in the Taupo thread, which doesn't seem very logical, I know, but I was distracted at the time is my only excuse...

Apparently they found a crack in the tub of their car after the session, so if they can get that sorted they should be back up there for qualifying. I wonder if the organisers will let them use the spare car? There's no way Adam Carroll is 3 seconds off the pace. I think I've decided to support him for the rest of the season.

Live timing should be here for anyone interested. I've worked out I can just about catch the last practice session before heading for bed.

I don't know about other people, but although the official website is actually very informative and tells you all you need to know, I find it quite difficult to navigate around. Not as logically laid out as some.
France stayed ahead in the final free practice session, with GBR, France, India (!) and Germany following. Switzerland still struggling in 14th and Canada only in 13th. Ireland don't seem to have solved their problem and are 17th. Hey ho.
