Spec series Question
with the number of spec series out there in the world I had an odd thought. Why do they all have to look the same? I mean in a series like say Formula Masters or Formula Renault with one company designing all the cars, why not make a spec tub and then develop two seperate sets of body work [maybe different front and rear wings or something]. If the same manufacturer is designing them then they could develop them so each package looks different and is equal to they other. So to break up some they blandness of all these series. I have no doubt Dallara or any other big company could do this. ok just a thought i had

Because there's no point in it.

Because that would kill racing even quicker than its already being killed by spec series.

In that mood it's better that one spec-series turned to be a series almost-spec with two chassis providers, instead giving two models from the same company. As it was Champ Cars in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Why would a race series do that though? Its just gonna cost someone (either the teams/drivers or the car makers) extra money for something that is not performance or reliability related? They'd never go for it cos theres no point! They often dont even design cars that can race well for spectators enjoyment let alone care what they look like.
