Wonder what the final version will look like. I think the one piece wheels and new aero kit will help the aesthetics a good deal.

Yep- there were those hereabouts who suggested Falken shouldn't stick with Porsche because there was no way to beat the factory team. Funny, huh?

Yeah! Take that haters! The Falken Porsche team with the 991 will be just fine.

I hope that they could have gone ahead with the same car they won Petit with for Daytona. But oh well. Guess that opens a spot for a Euro GTE entry now.

That was me. First and foremost I am a Porsche fan, have been for most of my life, so I'm glad Falken is back with Porsche, fantastic team top to bottom. I love the way they market themselves.

I'll stand by my viewpoint that battling a factory entrant, on a development car is incredibly difficult, and obtaining ultimate success is easier when you don't need to. Certainly Falken has beaten the factory Porsche team in the past, and are about the only team to have done so in more than a decade of Porsche participation in the ALMS. Yes, it's been three times, twice against a Porsche car in the latter stages of development, once after development had basically ceased. Barring unusual circumstances, beating the factory in the earlier stages of development will be the hardest. I wish them luck and glad they are on the grid, and would be happy to be shown to be wrong at the end of the season.... we'll see.

Just as interesting as all of the years Ganassi has been involved in more than one racing series, running different equipment in each. Why does this keep coming up?

This is great news. Without taking one bit of credit away from Team Falken, I might suggest that the purely factory teams are blunted by what is now, more than ever, a BoP classification. That's not a bad thing. I'm not talking about team-specific BoP either. The factory teams are all pegged to each other, in a sense, so there is less opportunity (and incentive) for the factories to leave privateers behind.
