Greatest years of BRC
I recently bought the video Greatest Years of British Rallying, 1972-2000. It got me thinking which were the best years and best era's of the championship, was it the pre-1983 Group 4 rules, the 1983-1986 Group B years, the 1987-1994 Group A years, or the 1995-2000 Formula 2 years. Which do you think and why.
And with the WRCars allowed from this year, what does the future hold, hopefully it will get back to how it was in the 70s & 80s. |

1986 was a great year in the BRC (as it was in the WRC), and I will always remember Llewellyn (6R4) & Lovell (RS200). 1987 wasn't bad either.

I only followed the BRC when it's used the Formula 2 rules so to see WRC's this year will be something to watch, I was dissapointed not to see the WRC's out last year because of Foot and Mouth but hopefully the years wait was worth waiting for,
By the way the best looking Formula 2 car used in the BRC was the Renault Megane Kit Car, followed by the VW Golf. |

The best years in my opinion were when Mikkola and Vatanen used their Mk2 Escorts followed by the J.McRae/Russel Brookes Manta years.
