Although that is true, the main ALMS is a question nobody asked as well. "Who wants to see the star cars of ALMS P2 2009 (well, minus the Muscle Milk RS Spyder) with BHFs and BHHs compete for overall wins? Zzzzzz." I guess they might as well throw some feces against the wall and see if anything sticks. I'm pretty sure a 3 car series would be classified as feces. That might be better than the spec Can-Am series though.

Or, of course, the ALMS could focus on fixing their own main series, but nah. That'll never happen.

McLaren or Viper would certainly draw some attention. Lotus, well, not so much. The ALMS link said it would be manufacturer backed, but I guess that could mean nearly anything.

Has ESM officially confirmed that they are coming back with 458s? I'm just trying to connect some dots that probably aren't connected in real life.

The unfortunate reality with the ALMS the past few years has been overhype and underdeliver. Hopefully something interesting....

Not "news", but the ALMS is really hammering home the new LMP2 entries for this year. Though as one commenter already pointed out, it's hard to go anywhere but up when you only had 1-2 entries last year...

I hope this class can gain some "momentum" this year that will continue in 2013 as well. It would be cool if more contructors could join.... A tatuus lmp2 would be nice. Anyone know what happened to the riley project?

The ALMS P.R. Team can turn anything into a fluff story. Mind you, with only 2-3 LMP1 cars next year, all new, we could see some cases where an LMP2 competes for overall wins at some races next year.
