With the number of WEC entries, the automatic invitations, "regular" teams and other teams which apply for an entry with much better performances over the last few seasons, even if the Jags apply for an entry, there's not even a guarantee they'll end up on the reserve list. 35-40 cars from the WEC, another 5-10 automatic invites, entries from the LMS, two-car US teams like Corvette or the Lizards, and you probably go beyond the 55 slots already. So I'm sorry, but there's no chance that Rocketsports will be at Le Mans with the Jaguars this year.

And in addition to what Victor_RO rightly says, the team have no chance to convince the ACO they can be either competitive or reliable before the entries are decided and released.

Until such time as improvement is made, their results are pretty much a joke. Still slow, still unreliable. This might just be one of the poorest efforts ever seen using a "factory" name in the history of the ALMS. It pains me to say it, as a friend has been employed by them, but they are just not getting the job done.

Anything is possible! last yar, JaguarRSR declined to participate, not that the ACO did not wanted them. Well I know the disappointing results of JaguaRSR, but i also know that they are working hard to get a competitive car, so before we see the first results that will get on track and we'll do the right and assessments due. Is their last chance... and they know!
It's okay to criticize, but can not find right but don't find right this sarcasm on a team that works hard, whatever it is.

Maybe not, the car is pretty much obsolete and can't be raced anywhere, so they may as well sell it to a collector. And they haven't raced the car anyway this year, they raced only in LMPC.

where did they pull that livery from? I don't remember one quite like that.

Also, you can see they still have some bodywork for their LMPC entry last year. So I wonder if they are going to sell that as well, seems like that would be an easier sell than the old Lola.

I don't remember them racing the Lola in that livery either- it's carrying #037, with the zero at the beginning, as was used by ALMS teams at Sebring and some at Petit- Perhaps the car was reliveried in anticipation of racing last year- I don't remember, were they on either the Sebring or PLM entry list at any point?

They wrecked in a big way in practice before Sebring 2011, but I doubt there is much of anything carbon fiber left from that car.

They were fifth at PLM in 2010.

Intersport said they would consider rolling out the P1 car if the revised AER engine ran well in the Autocon car. The Autocon car was garbage pretty much so that probably ended any P1 thoughts.

I thought it was wrecked before Sebring 2010.

Also, isn't the car still ALMS legal? There is an extensive collection of B06 bits out there with Autocon being toast/transitioning to new ownership...

very predictable, also because they didn't run all races in ALMS 2011. At least they had a really good result finishind third in GT-AM at le mans. Wasn't lamba engineering developing a GTE ford GT matech derivated?

Predictable maybe, but still a shame. Just under 1½ years ago @ PLM we actually had a very delicious prospect of having three Doran Fords in ALMS (the two Robertsons plus ACS Express) and also a promise of Matech-built GT2 Fords coming to Europe. And now...

A version of Quimera's AEGT All-Electric GT car is expected to debut in demonstration runs at selected races in 2012, with the aim of launching a new international electric racing series from as early as 2013.
So it will most likely do demo laps prior to the races....

Looks like United Autosports could be back for Petit this year according to Zak Brown as part of preparations towards a long-term future in the WEC. Possibly linking up with DAMS again.

Spencer Pumpelly weighs in on the subject on Twitter:

Great news about @almsnotes going to @VIRracing until you read farther. The Grand Course?
Quote:
The @VIRracing Grand Course is like running Road America and stopping for a lap of the Briggs and Stratton Motorplex track each time around.
Quote:
The Grand Course is .8 miles of 1-2nd gear switchbacks.
And a retweet of someone named Jameson Jones:

They tried running an SCCA regional a few years ago on that course, including 101 Miatas. Not a whole lot of passing there.
Grand Am ran the regular track with 50 cars just fine - I completely fail to see the rationale behind using that layout.

I am excited as I live about an hour away. I will be there. I am not sure about why they are running Grand vs. Full Course, but it will still be good. I will miss the high speed run down the backstretch into the Roller Coaster section you get with Full Course. From a spectators perspective, you might actually see more with Grand Course?
