May just be that the writer of the article doesn't want to give anything away (even if it still will be Team RAC this year). Although I did read somewhere some rumours of a cut from RAC or the loss of their backing.

A BMW factory team, I wish that could be true but I doubt it.

BMW are scaling back the factory touring car programme so unlikely that WSR will getting support when others are losing it.

Not much point unveiling a second car if it's going to be the same livery/sponsor as the one already on open display. Note that the article never refers to Team RAC, only to WSR.

I expect the 2nd car to have the new livery. Or it's about something different (GT car?) but in that case why put it on btcc.net?

Good to see paul back in the integra. Interesting to not see bell not confirmed in the team as well, thought he was a pretty integral part of the team?

On WSR, I have a feeling that it won't be another team RAC car. Did kind of think this might happen, now that RAC have won the championship (against the works VXR team as well) was is there left for them to do? It would be great if RAC turned the sponsorship into some aviva sponsorship, turkington seemed to be displaying them again in November: http://ColinTurkington.fotopic.net/p62078827.html

to add: this would be ideal team for WSR next year, with Jelly in a third car :-) http://ColinTurkington.fotopic.net/p46711369.html

If you are referring to the Avivia race suit in the background, it's the same one he wore at Macau a couple of years ago (as shown in your second picture).

Apart from a few details the RAC livery hasn't really changed since the MG days and don't see any reason for it to change this time, so I'd discount the second car reveal being just a new (RAC) livery. Aviva have now completed the rebranding from Norwich Union so maybe it's time to push the Avivia name.

Great that Paul is confirmed as coming back, the only slight disappointment is that I was hoping he'd be in a S2000 car. Excellent news nevertheless

Might it be some sort of NGTC showcar perhaps?

That's what I'm thinking, trying to run an NGTC programme a year early. The engine is already available. Didn't Thorney say about going down that route late on in the year with the Insignia?

Have the NGTC regs actually been published yet?

TOCA are allowing the NGTC engine to be used in S2000 cars this year but they won't allow a full NGTC-spec car. Thorney have said they are looking at building an Insignia over the next 12 months with a view to the 2011 season - any appearances prior to the end of the season would need a dispensation from TOCA.

I doubt WSR would be announcing a car that they can't use for another 12 months.

Mention of a new team here looking for equipment for the 2010 season. Don't have any ideas who it could be though

But maybe they do it on behalf of an other team.

Very interesting on thw WSR speculation. I'd go down the route of a car that isn't a BMW but maybe still with Team RAC sponsrship personally.

Would they want to race two different brands as part of their team though?

Another option here being that it's nothing to do with the BTCC and they're going to show off two shiny new F3 Dallaras or something ...

Well, looking through there pics I see they have connections with TH Motorsport, Boulevard Racing and Team Dynamics (or possibly Dave Pinkney).

I also see they have John George's Integra from this season for sale!

As the name suggests TCS buy and sell touring car spares. They've been a supplier to a number of smaller teams over the last few years but nothing more, they don't run a team themselves.

If anything they will have been approached by a team looking to buy cheap equipment and they are simply acting as an agent for a suitable commission.

Can't see that myself. The BMW is a championship winning car, no reason why it couldn't be again next year. Why ditch that for something else, and besides what else is available? No point in trying to develop a new car from scratch, especially with S2000 now on it's way out.

Yes, seeing TCS as a buyer/seller on those sites is every day news.

I'm pretty sure that proposed rule has been dropped.

As I understand it Colin will be unveiling the new livery, and that livery will be used on both (all?) cars in 2010.
