Well we know it will be a turbo.

A bit late in the game to start looking for staff, no?

I'm always struck glancing through the situations vacant columns in Autosport by just how much churn there is at the top level of motorsport, okay not so much at the chief engineer / c-suite level, but it strikes me that if you've a reasonable background there's a fair whack of jobs out there, and for Porsche to be fishing in this pond doesn't strike me as too surprising.

If nothing else it's a signal of intent that they're interested in hiring people of F1 calibre, which can only be good as sign of commitment.

Yes I was looking at those they are all engine or power train related, an area where I thought Porsche would be quite strong on.
I would have thought chassis and aero related areas would have been a weakness as other than the Spyder they have not built too many protypes in recent years.

Marcus666 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
My dream line up for Porsche LMP1 2014:

Porsche Number 1: Nick Heidfeld/Juan Pablo Montoya/Anthony Davidson

Porsche Number 2: Timo Glock/Gary Paffett/Heikki Kovalainen

I know its much f1 driver biased but I feel that the FIA WEC must show that it is one of the most competitive racing series on the planet right now!

No way! He's a liability and probably quite rusty at circuit racing after all them years in NASCAR so probably not even that quick.

Heidfeld has shown he could be useful with his performances for Rebellion I guess and Davidson is without doubt one of the quickest drivers in LMP1 plus Paffett could be a master stroke with all the success of recent Super GT drivers.

Otherwise it's just the "league of not really very extraordinary former F1 drivers"!

Not a chance for Montoya, he has a colorful history of destroying cars both the competitors and his own, and being reckless (Maldonado reminds me of Montoya...if you ignore the being compensated to have him on the team, part...pays for the repairs, and replacement parts/cars).

I reckon Mark Webber will be with Porsche next year, tired of playing second fiddle to someone getting cockier each season. Anthony will stick with Toyota for the long run, I don't see him moving around unless Toyota quit.

If and when Porsche come back, it will be a majority of Porsche works drivers like Patrick Long (should be at the top of the list being one of the guys that last drove their prototype attempt), and Jorg Bergmeister, and probably Webber once his season is done in F1.

Bergmeister is, of Porsche's current factory drivers, probably the least likely to be in the LMP1, simply because of his height, it would probably be too much work for the car to accommodate both someone of his height at the same time as someone as pocket-sized as Davidson or McNish.

Well McNish was a Porsche GT driver, so maybe once Audi move aside for Porsche to run the next ten years.

I see the Scottish terrier moving back to Porsche about as much as I see Audi leaving Le Mans. Both are too invested where they are at.

Stranger things have and do happen. I just want to catch a glimpse of Porsche's new proto.

Except of course there is no evidence to suggest Audi will do such a thing, and evidence suggesting the exact opposite.
