Team Australia confirm drivers

Will Davison, Will Power, Christian Jones.

It's a 12 round series, so they're likely to race four times each

Not neccarily, I think it will all depend on how the drivers perform indavidually. If after 1 or 2 rounds each 1 driver is performing better than the others he may well get the seat for the remainder of the races. IMO.

I could be a long time out of date here but is it not correct that teams can run 2 cars in practice but only one in the race so they could happily run two of them at each event so they get 8 tries to qualify at least.

You can change driver through the weekend, yes.

But you can't have 8 tries to qualify, because only one car per country can run in qualifying - so it's still only 4 tries

I hope so because Alans son Christen should not be there, daddy runs the team and the son gets a drive. There are quicker drivers in OZ.

As Daddy runs the team, he can employ whoever he wants to.

But I thought the whole idea of the A1GP series was team against team, not to suite daddy's ego. The A1GP is promo'd as a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FOR COUNTRY v COUNTRY??????.

I thought they were allowed 2 cars per team for the races? 25 countries, 50 cars?

No.

The teams have a spare car.
But only one car can compete in the qualification.
And only one car can run in the sprint race.
And only one car can run in the real race.

Especially on slippery/wet tracks.

unfortunate that Alan Jones is the seat holder , no matter what you do when your son is in the game you will find criticism pointing at you .

Why is Dad in the game if not to support his son after all the kid has had some good results and was on the pace in testing . I feel a bit for Peter Hackett . Who ever is behind the wheel will have my support and hopefully that of all Aussie supporters .

Go Aussie A! GP

South Americans and Europeans have been practicing nepotism in international racing for years - Australia has never really had anyone in a position to do it.

Why can't we play that game too?

Good luck to Christian (I think he could need it) and the Wills - I still remember watching the Wills duking it out for the Australian Formula Ford title a few years ago. Man that was a memorable battle!
