edenrace should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Sadly I believe the FIA (Berger) has lost the plot again. The original concept started by Barry Bland was for their to be a F4 series in countries throughout the world with cars virtually identical, a bit like F Renault or F Ford in the past, this has not happened and we have championships with the name only.

do you think it's a bit more of a long term process than just starting up straight away though? i mean, it's not ideal having different championships in different countries using different cars and so on, but at least it's establishing the brand and it's a way of making sure the marketplace isn't flooded with just one option of chassis.

on the other hand are the specs (and budgets) for each series even remotely similar?

I think Berger's concept with different cars is actually better, because if you have the same car you will always have drivers who can afford to race/test every single week. They'll simply buy their advantage over the others, so if you have even a slightly different car makes the extra testing/racing advantage obsolete.

And manufacturers can make and develop an F4 car for the short term, and one make can't become the car of choice before the others have a chance to properly develop it, meaning that in the long term you can open up these championships to other cars and hopefully create a second market. Or even have a world final.

So 2015 will see new F4 series in UK, Germany, France, NE Zone, Australia and Japan? That's one healthy market place

Good to see a variety of race car manufacturers involved.

Mygale is supplying the British, Chinese and Australian series. Dome is doing the Japanese Series. Tatuus will be supplying the Italian, German, BRDC and Northern European series. And Signatech is supplying the South American series.

Dallara has also announced they are building a car but unless they can pick up a deal to supply a Indian, French or North America series they might be left behind.

FIA F4 China replaces China Formula Grand Prix by Geely. It should be noted that the championship that Geely operated is considered the lowest rung of formula racing in China and thus FIA F4 China poses essentially no threat at all to FMCS. Besides, the technical support and race calendar in FMCS (and even AFR) is miles ahead of anything Geely has to offer.

I mean seriously, CFGP consisted of the most stone age tube frame cars one could imagine racing around in the worst circuits in China (i.e. Not Zhuhai or Shanghai F1).

I am genuinely surprised that Spain and Portugal haven't announced a series so far.

I personally would expect to see an FIA F4 series as part of the Euroformula/GT Open package very soon. I wouldn't be surprised one in Australia too, and I think the rise of a certain Mr D. Ricciardo in F1 would inspire a few more karters to choose the single-seater route. Saying that, I know nothing about the Australian motorsport scene...

I think their Formula Ford is also becoming F4, but no idea about chassis.
Haven't heard anything about South Africa, VW is pretty strong there.

As far as I remember F4 is strictly national or in exceptional cases (ie NEC) regional. So a European series is in theory unlikely.

Australia has selected Mygales.

Mygales with Ford engines.

Expect the British and Australian cars to be pretty much identical.
