I'm probably being picky but surely a replica GT40 ought to have a Ford V8?

I know a chap who built a GT40 rep with a Chevy lump. He used the car every day and it wasn't all shiney (The GT40 rep club displays at the kit shows mostly consist of cars which are rarely driven , some are trailered to the shows)
One of the club suggested that my friends car was not very authentic with it's Chevy engine, which was a bit rich considering they mostly have Renault gearboxes!!

True enough, I think I'm right in saying that those Renault gearboxes are becoming a bit scarse these day's. Must confess that I would deign to accept a GT40 'plica with a Chevy lump in it. (Not AArf!)

It's the only replica I've seen with anywhere near an 'authentic' sound!
He sold it recently but kept the engine and 'box for his new toy, an Ultima.

DAX are a manufacturer of (very good) Cobra replica's. I think the do anything from Rover V8's through Chevy + Ford V8's even to Jag V12's (non authentic but mega).

This is a Dax Tojeiro (Cobra replica). If I had time, money and space, I would have one NOW!

If you like it, check out http://www.daxcars.co.uk

hmm nice.
i think my favourite kit car is still an Ultima though, mind you, a GT40 replica has to come close.

The Dax is probably the best 'fake-snake' on this side of the Atlantic, handles better than the real thing apparantly!
I'd still go for the Ultima over the Dax simply because it's not a replica .
