(3/21) 1. Australia- Albert Park: Its a fun track IMO, and always a good opener
(3/28) 2. Japan- Suzuka: Classic track, and fits with a "Pacific" Leg of the calendar (4/4) 3. Singapore: The night race here was exciting, and it always will be. (4/11) 4. Malaysia- Sepang: While not the best track, it is good for filler. (4/25) 5. Monaco- Monte Carlo: Classic race, and start of the "Euro" Leg. (5/2) 6. San Marino- Imola: Wonderful track, with the pre-1995 layout. (5/16) 7. Netherlands- Zandvoort: Would be a very fast circuit for F1. (5/23) 8. Belgium- Spa: One of the best circuits in the world. (6/6) 9. Germany- Nurburgring: It's better than Hockenheim, although you could eliminate the Arena. (6/13) 10. France- Paul Ricard: Better than Magny-Cours, but with the full Mistral. (6/27) 11. Spain- Catalunya: One of my favorite circuits, but without the final chicane. (7/4) 12. Britain- Brands Hatch: Fast and exciting circuit. Better than Donnington and Silverstone. (8/1) 13. Italy- Monza: Classic track, must have in any season. (8/15) 14. Turkey- Istanbul: Great track, and great way to end the "Euro" leg. (8/29) 15. United States- San Francisco: See the attached image for my SF track. (Start of the "American" leg) (9/12) 16. Canada- Circuit Mont-Tremblant: Beautiful track in Quebec, great place to race. (9/26)17. Mexico- Hermanos: Best track in Mexico, should be run counter-clockwise. (10/10). Brazil- Interlagos: Great track to end the season. http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/5715/28445690.png < SF track |

For those suggesting a US GP at Laguna Seca how do you plan to get F1 cars through the corkscrew?

You could do a slow-speed demo run around my local supermarket car park, doesn't mean it could host 20 (or ideally 32) F1 cars streaming past the entry barrier.
[SHAMELESS_PLUG_FOR_MY_TRACKS_SECTION]Maybe the US GP could be held at a street circuit in Los Angeles ... [/SHAMELESS_PLUG_FOR_MY_TRACKS_SECTION] |

Well, Zonta's lap record was beaten later by Bourdais in the DP01. F1 cars wouldn't be that much faster. And it has hosted sports car races with loads of cars in it so field size is a non-issue as well
The main problem would be facilities |

No thats not incredible, it's Bernie. The potential audience was bigger (not fulfilled) and it was another street course in the schedule, a replacement for Las Vegas and Dallas... Laguna Seca would have required significant development then tto please him (as Silverstone still does now) and Laguna didn't have a local city council wanting to get kudos for having a GP so there were more financial guarantees......so Pheonix was a better substitute.... Has anything changed...? No..... |

2 British Grand Prix (1 at Donington, 1 at Silverstone) and no Spanish GPs. Why? Simply because it seems whenever the F1 train is in Spain it's always a really boring race. Barcelona and Valencia prove my point nicely. *Yawn*

Turkey should go only because there is no attendance and yes Barcelona and Valencia are a bore. Mexico's race was always interesting and challenging for the drivers. Canada was great for the spectators but a bit mickey mouse for the drivers. I am going to miss Silverstone.

Bit hypocritical considering bar the wet race last year, Silverstone hasn't produced a decent race for 6 years and even then that had a lot to do with the safety car period for Mr Horan |

Not posted for a while and this looks like a good place to start again...
I have to say, I am a fan of calendar shares if they make it easier for tracks to put funding together to host a race. Then, if I were running the show it wouldn't be quite so expensive anyway... 01. AUSTRALIA - Melbourne, for the traditional season opener. 02. MALAYSIA - Sepang, where unpredictable weather can make great races. 03. CHINA - Shanghai, great races in changeable or poor weather. 04. PORTUGAL - Algarve, new track with opportunity to prove itself. 05. SPAIN - Jerez, great track that would put the current two to shame. 06. MONACO - Monte Carlo, where glitz and glamour come as standard. 07. FRANCE - Le Mans 24hr circuit, because of the novelty and the challenge. 08. HOLLAND - Zandvoort, reviving a former great. 09. CANADA - Montreal, to stop a great race from going down the pan. 10. UNITED STATES - Indianapolis, Laguna Seca, Long Beach, Road America, annual rotation. 11. TURKEY - Istanbul, good track with challenging corners. 12. POLAND - Poznan, presumably a growing market for Formula One. 13. GERMANY - Hockenheimring, Lausitzring, Norisring, Nurburgring, Oschersleben, Sachsenring, annual rotation. 14. GREAT BRITAIN - Donington Park, Silverstone, annual rotation. 15. EUROPE - Different European venue every year, opening chance for two races in one nation. 16. BELGIUM - Spa-Francorchamps, because it's brilliant. 17. ITALY - Monza, a great race that deserves its slot. 18. SINGAPORE - Night Race, because it has quickly proven itself worthy! 19. JAPAN - Fuji, Motegi, Suzuka, annual rotation. 20. BRAZIL - Interlagos, annual party to celebrate the end of another year. Great Britain has two circuits, Japan has three, the USA has four and Germany has six. The European GP will rotate between various tracks annually, so that former venues such as the Hungaroring are [unfortunately] not lost forever. My calendar encourages variety, thus stimulating and challenging the teams and drivers as much as possible. |

Barcelona definitely sucks. I like Valencia, but can see how the lack of overtaking could be a turn off. Jerez is a great track and provided some very exciting racing (Schumi trying to wreck Villenueve).

I included Laguna Seca because it's an ex-A1 track and at the time I posted it, the rumours were that a FOTA breakaway would absorb A1. The rest of the circuits on that list are all A1 venues past and future

It's likely that the FIA/FOM series' calendar will something like this:
01 Sakhir - Bahrain GP 02 Sepang - Malaysian GP 03 Shanghai - Chinese GP 04 South Korean GP 05 Barcelona - Spanish GP 06 Monte Carlo - Monaco GP 07 Kurtkoy - Turkish GP 08 Le Castellet - French GP 09 Donington - British GP 10 Hockenheim - German GP 11 Hungaroring - Hungarian GP 12 Valencia Marina - European GP (what a farce would it be if the competing FOTA series were to race at Circuito Ricardo Tormo on the very same day) 13 Spa - Belgian GP 14 Monza - Italian GP 15 Singapore GP 16 Suzuka - Japanese GP 17 Interlagos - Brazilian GP 18 Yas Island - Abu Dhabi GP (which seems questionable, depending on the involvement of Ferrari in this event) |
