Matt Mladin has won his 5th AMA superbike crown and well done to him.
not sure if thats a record or not but either way its a fantastic performance. he talks about it in This article. Well done Matt |

Great news. I'd love to see Mladin have a crack at World Superbikes, but one thinks that he is more than comfortable in the AMA.

MOre comfortable finicially aswell as oter things and he would not leave for WSB in my view, only GP. If Suzuki are so desperate for change then why not give Mat a chance, Hopper looks likely to leave as does Kenny, why not promote Mat to GP at last, even if only for a year, he can win on an underpowered bike, and wouldnt he just be great in the press conferences, imagine if he got quick and started challenging Rossi!!

Matt said he wouldn't try GP bikes because of his height, etc, saying he'd be at to much of a disadvantage. Having said that, i'd still like to see him try again! But he's happy doing AMA and WSB Wildcards I guess...

I guess he got burned on the cagiva , he doesnt want to bother again but years more experience now , I'd like to see how he goes.
But hey nothing wrong with a 6th AMA title is there

Definatly, Mat Mladin 6 time AMA superbike champ sounds good, eh?
But in a dream world the Repsol team would be Bayliss/Mladin/Edwards, and then all the Aussies would be happy
