Morris defects to Ford and BJR at the BIMF

Yes. That's right, Morris has defected to Ford and BJR in their Aussie Racing AU Falcon at the Bathurst International Motorsport Festival. here is a few lines from the press release:
Quote:
While Jones and Bowe were at home in Albury and Melbourne respectively, enjoying plenty of Easter cheer, they left the job of driving to V8 Supercar Championship regular Paul Morris.

Morris took to the 6.2 kilometre layout in the Team BOC Aussie Legend Racing Car. Three races were held over the course of the Easter weekend as a part of the Bathurst International Motorsport Festival.
So, is this a one off or does this mean more than frendship with Bowe, Jones and Morris due to BOC or does this mean more?

Without looking into it at all I would say from personal experience that if a race driver is given a chance to drive in anything that even resembles a race car in a competition of any kind they will do it.
I know my other does, if he isn't racing his own SC he will race someone elses, or race any other make or type of race car offered too him.
If not a car it is a bike 2 or 4 wheels or even a go kart at the local indoor Kart track.
Anyway GB that is what I think.

OOH I finally made it to 1000 posts without getting kicked out or warned

I always thought that Morris would redeem himself somehow.

And he was spectacular in it as well,A race with all the V8 drivers in Aussie Racers would be a hoot, someone told me Glen Seton was wanting to have a drive as well.

You'll note Morris has had BOC on his cars in the past. It's probably a tie in with BOC, rather than FORD or BJR. (as has been said it isnt a ford anyway)

This thread is rediculous, you may as well say that Marcus Ambrose walked pasted the Holden garage so he is joining HRT. I think there is some growing up and self censorship required here.

Maybe some people are trying to build their post counts, or they just speak because they have to exhale anyway.

Somehow, I think a current V8 steerer driving a car for a rival team sparks alot more interest than 'Marcus[sic] Ambrose' walking past the HRT garage.

Don't complain about people getting their post counts up, just to create a post which adds nothing to the discussion.

In reference to the OP, while I believe this may have just been a one off promo of sorts, the fact that Morris is meant to have his L1 franchise for sale might add fuel to the rumour fire.

Sorry but I think I was offering some closure to a discussion that need not even be discussed.

In that case, don't discuss it. Personally I thought it very interesting that Morris was driving for another team, and I see no problem with it being discussed. I thought that was what the internet was for, after all....

I think it is pretty good that the the teams respect each other so well, to give a driver from another team your car to race I think is quiter commendable. I did hear that Dale Brede who was down to drive it hurt himself in the gym so i think it was smart of the Jones boys putting Paul Morris in the car as he was obviously jonny on the spot at the time being there to do passenger rides in his V8.

Well if either John or Brad are going to hang up the boots and suit, could Morris leave his own team (Leaving Morris Snr to do both the keeping his wineries open and taking care of the team) and drive one of the BOC Falcons again and bring some dollars from his father and the sale of his L1 licence?

Maybe Kim Jones thought morris would do a better job considering he was doing plenty of laps of the mount at the time, I had not noticed before but I saw the BOC signs on the front of the Morris car on the weekend, has it allways been there.

The BOC Gases signs have been on PMM cars for quite a few seasons... the size of the logo changes, but they have been there (back to the SuperTouring days if you think about it!)

Presumably Bradley didnt want to go ARC and either show up/be shown up by Cromley

Is the car actually owned and run by BJR or does it just have the same major sponsor?
