StudioT9 Photographic Sales on eBay

Has anybody ever bought anything from StudioT9 Photographic Sales on eBay?
Looking at their rating they have 99.7% feedback but I feel kind of twitchy when I see Kodak Pro Plus 16MP Medium Format Digital Camera Back with a starting price of 99p when I'm pretty sure they're nearer £10,000
I've bid on one of those topo good to be true offers in the past only to have the auction pulled by eBay

In case there's any confusion, cos I dont want to badmouth anybody without reason, the stuff I bid on in the past that was pulled wasn't from this vendor

Don't fall for the low starting bid line. Just because it starts at 99p doesn't mean the final price won't be several thousands. There was a thread on here recently about a Canon lens that started at £1 and shot up to £700 almost overnight. If the seller knows the item is sought after and they known it will go for near retail price then it's worth the low start just to save a bit on listing fees. Might seem a but penny pinching but if you are selling as often as they are it makes a difference.

As for your original question, not had any dealings with StudioT9.

You can be sure that the price will rocket in the final 24-48 hours, and the final price ususlly ends up somewhere near 80% of the retail price.

I have dealt with Mick (StudioT9) twice on eBay in the past and never had any problems with him. He bought an old Nikon F80 body and a Nikkor AF 80-200mm f/2.8 lens from me and I remembered him being extremely prompt with the transactions/payments. So I'd say he is genuine. I also happen to know that he often runs Nikon endorsed photography workshops nationwide.

Mick's contact details?

Terry. It would be ever so helpful to a lot of us if you could.

StudioT9
Phonebusta
Playtime-UK
Creation-House
Hassie-Lassie
Usednikoncouk
Berniebuysbig

All his ebay ids that I know of. All suspended. This elusive
man owes literally thousands of pounds in unsent refunds and undelivered goods. Particularly people either outside the UK or not with English as their native language. And therefore less likely to know of the Small Claims Online service that many have had to resort to.

We've tried contacting him at his new www.photography247.co.uk venture but no luck as yet. Apparently he's even advertising in AP! But I suppose they must be desperate for business

Any idea how we can get hold of him?

(Michael John Maloney is not related to famous AP columnist & Mirror snapper Mike Maloney, though sometimes I think Mick's milking the association )

One minute he's OK then an aussie is posting that he's a shyster???
Then a post "Edited for Advertising"????

WTF happened here?

I have bid on Bronica stuff from Hassie Lassie, and wondered where they'd gone. Are you saying the guy is NOT kosher, as he looks it...

Ta,

Sorry people, I haven't visited for a long long time and hence the delay. My last dealing with him was back in Dec 2005 and I had had no problems with him whatsoever on two seperate transactions which I stated earlier. The alias ' studiot9' was the only one known to me and his envelopes with cheques inside appeared to have come from a Birmingham based photography studio. I can try to find out if I am able to dig up more details. So, what's up with his guy? Can someone refresh me on this?

Bit of update, managed to find an email address from one of the transaction emails.

mick@studiot9.co.uk

Not too sure if this is of any use.

what makes me smile about this forum is that if you post a photo too large it gets removed, post a link to your ebay sales it gets removed, post libelous remarks about someone not a problem

pointing out irony is probably a no no too
