Thanks for the link to the stream. I can't really tell which cars are which but the sounds is soothing while I am working.
So far, everything as expected except Porsche North Americas having issues with both cars. Two Fords in lead three "Corvettes"--that's actually a surprise. I would have picked Action Express #5. Olivier Pla in the quickest P2 (#42 Oak Morgan-Nissan) is a second off the pace--how shocking. |

Well, there it is.
The closest P2 is a full second off of the quickest DP in practice 1. Interpret that any way you like. |

There was talk in one of the preview articles that the P2's can probably run the whole race on one set of tires, but the DP's will have to change. That means the driver change speed could be the deciding factor in this race, well that and yellow flags.

And, this is a street race. The chances of us going green for the whole race is pretty low. |

With the DP's one second a lap faster, it looks like that ESM and Oak are done for the rest of the season. Why show up and get destroyed? |

I am trying to hold off skepticism until qualifying, but the lap times aren't looking good for a fair fight in prototypes. Funny that Ford is up front, just when they are "partner" of the series. Must want a good showing.

Agreed we can get back to this topic on Sunday morning. By the way wan't it Scott Pruett who set the fastet lap in the session. Not so washed up I think.

Still can't tell who has the upper hand in GTE. I think you can't discount anybody winning that race. Well then again, you can discount Mazda I think (joke).

The Falken 911 is in front of the factory one. Maybe a sign of things to come? I wonder if Porsche might be looking into those Falken tires.

Both of the Factory rides have engine issues. Bad vibration, I would have to assume that it might be something significant.

Just back from the track for morning practice. Weatherman sure missed again - morning fog my ass...both factory Porsches did sound funny the short time that they were out. The Falken Porsche looks good. Not a vette guy, but the design and graphics of the current car are the best yet, in my opine...Mazdas are an embarrassment. They're getting passed on the front straight by GT's before the pit entrance.

Waiting...., for Practice 2 on live timing. On that Fanschoice site they list what I presume are Toyota Pro-Celeb practice times. They show Kyle PETTY quickest. Misprint?

And now DirecTV has the race listed as "United SportsCar Series Racing" in the satellite guide. So that's three different titles it's had in 24 hours, heh.

Catching the tail end of qualifying. Practice times seem to lead to another DP sweep, similar in scale to that of Daytona. I hope a P2 can disturb that DP top 5 (05:59 to go).
EDIT: Red flag on course for no. 01 stopped. |
