rx-guru should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Björn Waldegård (Porsche Carrera RSR) leading Stig Blomqvist or Per Eklund (both Saab 96 V4 1.9), Rod Chapman (Ford Escort RS1600) and Franz Wurz or Herbert Grünsteidl (both VW 1302S 2.4).
Lydden Circuit in 1974, but I think I’ve never seen that picture before.
If the pic was taken during the Embassy ERC round on September 14 – it was won by Stig Blomqvist (Saab 96 V4 1.9).
But if the pic was taken during the Embassy ERC final on November 2 – it was won by Tom Airey (BMC Mini Cooper S 1.4).

Lol I knoew it was Chapman, Eklund and probably Bjorn, but teh Beetle I had no clue

Is it using the older Lydden layout you reckon, or traditional Drift without coming on the straight near the finish line?

Rx Guru

Very impressive

was Waldegard, from Eklund from Chapman and Wurz

was the final round with Airey winning, and Wurz taking the title.

Was this the last time a Mini won an ERC round?

The two only ERC rounds ever won by a Mini driver:

02.11.74: Lydden Circuit, Wootton, GB, Tom Airey, GB, BMC Mini Cooper S 1.4
20.09.75: Lydden Circuit, Wootton, GB, Tom Airey, GB, BMC Mini Cooper S 1.4

Looks like the elbow at Lydden.

Don't know when or what (although someone has been stuffed rather hard up the rear end for sure!)

I agree with Devils Elbow. Second car is an Audi quattro, that is all I can see for the moment.

Are you sure? I've thought it was a home converted 1.9 16V engine with some bits of the mighty T16 (like the head)? Also thought that he tried several XU engines in the 306 with different capacity to get it right (reliable and fast)? Kinda strange in France so see a lot French cars, but it must be a nightmare to get hold of parts or tuners in comparison with Ford engines?

As for the Saab - it's definetley the ex antonsson car. Eduardo veiga came to England in about 2004 to take delivery of his Harry hockley motorsport built ford focus and race it in the rallycross Superprix. The same year Morgan brought his Saab. Veiga saw how quick the Saab was and sold the focus. I think both cars remain in portugal still
I was talking with Veiga last August in an autocross race here in Arteixo-Coruña and he told us that this car was an ex-Antonsson car, no ex Eklund. But the question is, how many saabs 9-3 are there?

You can see some pics of Veiga's car in last summer here:

Well, all the pictures on the first pages from the European race at the Mandes circuit in Belguim are mine.
Some others as well,VW 2008 & Lydden 2009.
On this forum as well: http://www.gamequarter.be/new/v4/for...ead.php?t=1470
Happy to share them!!

There are some fantastic pictures from some verry good photografers in the rallycross scene, like a certain rx-guru and a Belgian couple.

Off course,i had some complains about copyrights,so after that,i almost didn´t put any more on.
I hope you can forgive me,but i was sad when i never saw these pictures anymore.
It was such a good rallycross area,so i wanted them to be remembered.

Rallycross can use som promotion,i like to think that this will help a bit.
I still hope i get a accreditation for some races next year,i am afraid it is not going to happen.

I never knew the Antonsson Saab had its engine south/west. Is the Antonsson Saab originally from Anders Nordstedt? There must be four I think, wide and wider bodied and the two cars used for Rally event Champions and two for Pikes Peak?
