Haha, and another frustrating one for the Honda camp for yet another losing battle for the win!

I don't know what Izawa was saying at the end but I almost feel sorry for the guy and Yamamoto too, crying like a baby on the podium. This time they actually did a credible job despite no win, although both did some minor mistakes. Yamamoto was really nervous in the second part of his stint! I hope they win a race soon because this team needs it. How long since their (Kunimitsu) last win?

Great race by the Zent drivers. Tachikawa was really determined today, he was always going to win against a nervous Yamamoto, he is one of the most successful GT drivers and has been racing in GT500 for more than a decade.

BTW great charge by Tsukakoshi.

besides that GTA are planning to organize a 'special stage' in Zhuhai
15 + 15 would be the grid size.
either 16 or 23 December is the race date.

Well it was a fierce battle for the win between Yamamoto and Tachikawa. Coming second was not an option for Yamamoto, unfortunately for him it was one of those days where Tachikawa was not not going to give up the win no matter what. They switched positions for the lead several times, in the final lap it was Yamamoto in the lead but he slowed to much braking to the final hairpin in an attempt to block Tachikawa but he left a gap on the inside so Tachikawa goes for it. It was a clear example of lack of racecraft, you can check in the youtube video posted by JS.

The reason he was crying (Izawa too when he was interviwed) was because this was yet another failed oportunity to win his first race because they previously had several wasted chances, this was yet another one - the difference being he was only a few corners away this time and he blew it.

Good read. He got the engine size backwards for SGT, it's 3.4 liters, not 4.3 liters. I'm glad that SGT isn't going to unite under those rules from DTM. SGT looks to be innovative in their future regulations. And I'd rather not see the spec body styles on their cars.

Thanks for explaining what happened. I've checked out the video and yeah it was a great battle but in the end he left the door open and Tachikawa went for it. Hope they break their duck soon and get a win on the board.

Don't forget this is Okayama, it suits the HSV's perfectly. Let's see what kind of pace they show next round at Fuji (hoping for a dry race-weekend). And even looking at their performance at Okayama they actually seemed to lost some pace compared to their rivals because last year if you remember they were miles ahead in race conditions. That was not the case this year, it was much closer to me.

They have yet to introduce their upgrade though, so they seem to be on the ball already even though other teams packages may be a bigger step up from last year in comparison. And you noted before that Yamamoto has not won a race yet he was very close to doing so. If he is not a very strong driver he did quite well to be where he was! So the car may be stronger than what we think.

Shikataganai, na... It was always going to end up like that. Those discussions are ongoing for two years, with no progress whatsoever. Super GT is the one series allowing the japanese motorsport industry to survive, and the insistance from the ITR to make everything common and to build the tubs in Germany goes straight against this. Plus, as we have seen with Honda now wanting to come back to a midship car, and before that entering a car that never saw production, regulations in Japan have always been just a matter of the three manufacturers agreeing on something for their mutual interest rather than some ideal set of rules set in stone. And it always worked well.

I fail to understand why they just don't try simply to bring a DTM car to Japan and give it enough room for tuning until it runs the same lap times as the GT500s. They have done it before between themselves, they are doing it in GT300 all the time. I think at some point BMW is going to break ranks with ITR and do it. They are getting eaten by Audi on the japanese market, they need to restore their dominant sporting image and it's not with a couple of Z4s that they can do it.
