Round 12 Race Thread :Assen (RACE Spoilers)

Now this is one track I have been waiting for all year.
The famous Assen circuit , sadly it has changed configuration in the recent past as I think the old track would have been superb , but its still a great place and should be very interesting.

I have never seen a car race on the Assen circuit and have always wondered what cars would be like and now heres my chance.

2.83 mile road course with some really challenging places around the track.

Check out the website at www.champcargp-assen.nl

and dont forget your fantasy and predictions picks in the fantasy forum.

who will take the honours for the first time at Assen ?

Or will Champcar keep him out of this event as well ?

I havent heard anything official as of yet

I heard they expected a decision on Friday (which is way to late, if you ask me)

How do we think open wheelers will go on the circuit ? Seems a little narrow.

I've always thought Assen was a great track, but would be rubbish for cars.

It might be nice to drive, but I just don't really think it will produce great racing. I hope I am proved incredibly wrong though...

It's a bike circuit, so don't hold your breath for a thriller.

I do, however, hope I am wrong and I suppose it will be interesting to see these cars on such a track.

It seems Clarke tried his hand at a few other things over the Zolder weekend, lollypop man, race control so hopefully we will see a different Dan Clarke this weekend.

Maybe a win. Wouldnt that be a story

I'm interested in seeing how they run at Assen, because some of the renovations they made a few years ago were designed to have the track accommodate cars pretty well, IIRC.

I've always thought that the LMS sportscars should have consider going to Assen...the Spyker andLammers factors alone would've drawn Dutch fans in droves to the race.

I believe that they will turn out to cheer on Doornbos as well, since he is in contention for the championship and is having a great season.

It'll be very packed I'd say. The Dutch love motor racing, properly knowledgeable. They turned out in droves to see Verstappen, so how they'll turn out for a driver with a modicum of success boggles the mind!

still nice of him

All PKV row 2. Minardi back on row 5. Tracy last.
