Whilst I am pleased to see the re-emergence of Rallycross, I must beg to differ - the best Rallycross circuit I ever saw (and yes, I marshalled at it!) was at Brands Hatch! |

Brands Hatch is not a good rallycross track, it may be a good venue but the track leaves a lot to be desired especially the revised layout used last year.

Brands Hatch is the best rallycross venue in Britain. The recent changes to the track have not helped. The best layout was when you turned right after 'hoppy's drop' and went the wrong way along the bottom straight. This gave two good overtaking opertunities. The current track uses the main straight which is too long for rallycross. Last years meeting had virtually no overtaking, which has never been a problem at Brands.
I still think the Grand Prix should be at Brands as it will attract more European drivers due to it's history. Once the Grand Prix is re-established then it could alternate with Croft. This years Grand Prix must be succesful if we want to see top drivers back in Britain. |

Welcome to the real world, well nearly!
Brands Current Track = rubbish Why will having the GP at Brands attract more European drivers? If you tell me it is because of road and sea links, think again. The north east is about the only direct ferry link for the scandanavians. Croft is situated in an easy to get to location. Oh and by the way we are getting gas and electricity next month |

The Brands site is **** now and Darlington MC have done a fine job in bringing the Rally X Grand prix back again.
Why the hell should it go back to Brands when Darlington motor club does all the hard work and financial risk in getting this event running again? If it goes back to Brands then its totally wrong for those in charge to take away all those who have brought the excellent race back. |

I think its great that this event is back. DDMC has been working really hard for this rallycross GP and am looking forward to it. Instead of knocking it lets all get on board & support it.

I agree and give alot of credit to those involved in bringing us a Grand Prix at all. I live in Hampshire but have already sent for my tickets and booked my accomodation for the weekend. Bothered about the distance? Not really!! Just pleased that the effort is being made by the organisers!!
Re. Brands' current layout - not particularly great to watch anymore. The esses at the bottom of Tumbledown hill (or whatever it's now called) seems to be much straighter and faster and using the full length main straight? Well it gives the drivers the chance to light a cigarette or something, doesn't it!! Has anyone else got plans to go to Croft? |

I'll be there. there will hopefully by November 25+ Division 1 cars, if you regard yourself as a rallycross fan, be there. Plus this will be an early taster of next years Super-Series plans. Its bloody freezing, usually raining, dark by 3.30pm, miles away from home, but I'm still very much looking forward to going.
As regrds Brands Hatch, they changed the circuit so the cars started and finished in the same place catering for the incar transponders. I hate the new lay out, the track has always been one of the longest so you need 8 car fields to make it any sort of spectacle, the new track just spreads the runners out. Not sure Jonathon Palmers to convinced about rallycross in its present form anyway. |
