A Letter From The ACO

Rather surprisingly, I have just received a letter from the ACO (The postmark is actually 30th November 2007!)

I'm guessing it's some sort of invite to Le Mans?

The only problem is......it's completely in French.

I can work out that it's the 76th Le mans.....on June 14/15th

The letter is signed Daniel Poissenot!

Can anyone who may have had a similar letter help me out please?

Well, I don't know if I can help you, but what you appear to have is as you suspect, an invite to apply for the 76 edition of le Mans.

Should have been 3 sheets Mark, the 30th Novembre letter from Daniel Poissenot, with the PS at the bottom giving the signing on times
Lundi 9 Juin de 14H 30 a 18H etc...
The application form, top left a box Photo Nouveaux commissaires, top right a box, agrafer ici la photocopie de votre licence 2008
Then an application for the classic in July

Good news - you have till March 3rd to apply for the regular 24 hours or the classic.
Bad news - seems you don't do French!

but seriously - if ye want to go - it's an easy enough form to fill in
I'm here all day - severe dose of sniffles has me bananded from work.

Probably those nice folks at the MSA (Allan Dean-Lewis) included your name of the list of marshal's applying via the MSA to marshal at the event.

Mark - have you tried Babel Fish? It's pretty crummy for proper gramatical translating, but it might give you an idea of what the letter is about. And if you're still having difficulty translating it, PM it over to me - I don't speak a word of French but my brother is fluent, so I'll borrow his brain for a while.

Just done a Babel Fish translation!
Got fed up after a while though.........it mentions something about a Police Chief in there!!

Any way, as I haven't actually applied to work the event, I don't think I will be filing in the form - but it's interesting to find out what they've written.

I rather like being promoted to Police Chief, from startline marshal !

As Bodysnatcher says the form is easy to complete - without much knowledge of French - and I have found our French colleagues most welcoming.
