2003 V8 Calendar

It seems as though the FFord Association has let the cat out of the bag...

The July round will be at Queensland Raceway (Sprint round we assume) and the 500 will be held in Melbourne!

Where do you race in Melbourne? Sandown I'd assume!

Anyhow, what's a contract worth these days?

Well, there are other options other than Sandown:

-Is Phillip Island considered to be part of Melbourne?
-Will we see a Calder 500 sponsored by Captain Snooze?
-A second race for Albert Park?

Taking the above options into consideration, I think a 500k at Sandown would be the only real available Melbourne race...

AVESCO have already confirmed Sandown will be running a 500 km race and the season will finish in Sydney next year - both AVESCO releases on http://www.racenews.com.au

Over a month ago, AVESCO invited the AHTCA to stage a 7 round series as a support to the V8 circus. They gave us a calendar which said the TBA round in July was at QR. Not very good at keeping secrets, eh?

Is it possible that the season ending Sydney 400 will be anywhere but Eastern Creek? Also, why do they get two rounds? Is it the excellent facilities, location or something else?

Same reason as Sandown used to get two rounds or QLD Raceway had two rounds?

Who knows the working of the brilliant AVESCO minds?

(Excuse me while I go and throw up....)

Might they offer the cheapest rent for AVESCO as a promoter?

We are talking about Jon Davison here - as I understand it he doesn't understand or know the word 'cheap'

Interesting to see that FHolden has been left off the AVESCO program.

Now, CAMS the other week said that the Gold Star etc would still be for FHolden... but if they have no National level meetings to race at, what will happen? Surely they can't fit in/with Procar?

Crash - they are obviously so popular (as witnessed by CAMS giving them Gold Star status for 3 more years) that they will be running their own meetings with themselves as the principle category.

Supports for Formula Holden meetings are 125cc Go Karts; TryAthlon athletic meeting wth a maximum of 500 competitors and a 250 km bicycle road race. For Sandown and Eastern Creek they will also be hosting a round of World Championship Wrestling (although I uynderstand some drivers have said that whilst Formula Holden races will be completed scripted and staged in future, they are refusing to join Actors Equity...)

I would have thought that Hulk Hogan standing on the entry to the first turn at EC (what odd initials) would be a bit of a drama...

Gav: Sports Sedans, Saloon Cars, FFord, Commodore Cup, Historics, Aussie Racers, MGs etc etc
